I Give Up On Rose - Hopeless Software - Regret Purchase

Bonte,

Yes, it has all the bells and whistles except an HDMI video out. As you point out it does have an HDMI out connector but that’s for I2s to a DAC not for HDMI video.
Maybe next year’s iteration for them. I have no doubt they’re working on it.

Ron, I only made this arrow in the direction of the three HDMI ports.

This time I was a bit too quick…you’re right, there is no video output. But it only costs €1099.00 and has good converters…well, we want to stick with our Rose products.

Have a nice Christmas :v:t2:

mmh, do you had or have some Fiio items working?
Rose has a problem with their software, but it has become better in some areas with the latest updates.
Eversolo (I’ve also a DMP-A6) has fixed many bugs in the first time, but now they stopped with it and really not all is fixed.
Fiio (currently using here some mobile DACs, a R7 streamer and the M11s DAP) is like the same as eversolo, but here you can be sure, that many things at first are not working.

Really good in their firmware are e.g. Lumin (had a U1 and T2) and Naim (using here an Atom Uniti HE and Muso 2)

This looks pretty good fiioS15image

I think I might have been wrong about it lacking an HDMI video output.

Note that it says “HDMI output and even HDMI ARC”
ChatGPT says yes too:
"Yes, the FiiO S15 streamer does have an HDMI video output connection. It supports HDMI 2.0, which allows it to send video signals to a screen, making it suitable for use with video streaming apps.

ROON Certified too!

Yes, the FiiO S15 streamer is Roon Ready. It supports various streaming protocols, including DLNA and AirPlay, making it a versatile option for high-resolution audio streaming.

Yes,

I tried out the FILO R9 in the summer
(FiiO Flagship all-in-one digital media streamer R9) and only had it from my dealer for three days, so I could only check everything superficially.

But so far everything worked well. The sound was also very good (see data sheet…it even has 8-channel ES9038PRO*2).

I just didn’t like the device itself because it’s a desktop stand-alone device and I would rather have, or prefer, HiFi component size.

Well, you see, Ron, now you’ve really looked it up!

I don’t want to argue here or insist on my rights and out of respect for your age, I said it doesn’t have a video output. For this reason too, I put the arrow in the picture in the hope: (if “HE” is interested, he will take a closer look at it).

So, everything is clear and as predicted, the congruence is hot on Rose’s heels.
