Ok so I’ve ran spotify over airplay from my iPad for over 14 hours without a drop.
I’m doing a shorter test of running spotify on my macbook and using airply to the RS520.
The older iOS (16.x) seems to be more stable than the newer release.
It looks to be an issue w the newer release of iOS.
Please just keep this on your radar…
I’m still testing to see if/when it fails .

I just tried using Airplay from iOS 26.1 .
It doesn’t work at all.
On the iPhone, it will take the RS520 out of standby act like its playing but no sound.
Same for the macbook. I tested this against the Arcam Solo Uno (which is an older unit no longer in production) and had the same issues.
Have to wonder if Apple somehow changed the protocol in iOS26.1
I did send in a bug report. Perhaps you can find someone w iOS26.1 and see if they too are having problems? Again this is the latest OS release that appears to have the issues.
{edit} One suggestion was to reboot the iPhone… that worked… for now, however need to see how long before it starts to fail.

iOS 26.1 worked fine on my iPad when streaming AirPlay to my RS520 but did not work at all when streaming from my iPhone 16.
Today, I updated both to iOS 26.2 and am pleased to report that AirPlay now functions perfectly when streaming from either.
I just did the upgrade on my Macbook and I’ll have to test tomorrow.
I’ll probably upgrade the phone tonight.

It appears that upgrading to 26.2 does in fact solve the issue.
