In terms of support, etc., Lumin is in a completely different league than Rose, but they’ve been on the market for much longer, and their approach is likely different than Rose’s.

However, when it comes to updates, both system and app-based, I wasn’t referring to the frequency, but rather to how they change and what they bring. For me, practically everything has been the same for many years, excluding, of course, the Connect, Roon, etc. features. For example, internet radio, while it was a disaster five years ago, remains so today. They haven’t improved anything in that regard, but overall, as I’ve written several times here, these are really great devices.

In your country, it’s different. In my country, the top-of-the-line RS 151 streaming player is 23% more expensive than the top-of-the-line ES DMP A10 player. That’s why this model isn’t very popular in my country.

However, the difference is significantly greater for lower-end models, such as the Rose RS 250A compared to the DMP A6 Gen 2. The difference is very large, reaching 200%. Although there’s currently a very good promotion on the RS 250A, the difference is smaller, but still significant.

The prices stem from the fact that the Chinese government subsidizes Chinese toys, and no one can beat them on price. Furthermore, in my country, Ever Solo sells their products not only in audio stores but also in supermarkets, which demonstrates their target audience.

And Rose products are sold exclusively in audio stores and exclusively through local distributors.

Duffer5,

Bottom line:

Eversolo has released a comprehensive software upgrade and bug fix already to its streamer DMP-A8

That level of attention to customer input will be very hard to compete with.

Based on the recent responses from @ROSEHAN, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that HiFi Rose is unlikely to remain a significant long-term player in the broader HiFi market. At best, they may end up occupying a small niche, while brands like Eversolo continue to capture the low- and mid-tier segments with faster updates, clearer communication, and stronger follow-through.

It’s genuinely disappointing, because if HiFi Rose had acted on community feedback early on, they could have been in a far stronger competitive position today. Instead, they’re now trying to catch up in areas where competitors have already moved ahead — and honestly, the gap has grown so wide that leveling the playing field again seems increasingly unrealistic.

Duffer5,

Unfortunately I’m afraid you’re right. What a shame to have such vision and foresight and to be unable to carry it forward into an ongoing successful business.

So far, I’ve been hearing lots of criticism. Please specify what are your most critical problems with HiFi Rose’s User Interface. ← be specific

BTW, Room Correction can only be done properly via a preamp/prepro not by a source device. Room Correction by a source device can only affect the source device’s audio output; it cannot affect subwoofer adjustments, inter-speaker balancing/delay adjustments, etc to compensate a room’s problem areas, etc. So don’t blame demand Room Correction on RS130 devices.

No ? ? ?

Why do you always post such rubbish?

You’d better be careful you don’t get banned again.

I may be missing something but I am not sure I understand your issue with what joyofmvid wrote. He is saying that if you use the room correction software of a streamer or transport it will only correct the sound coming from that particular source. Now if that is your only source, and clearly for some here it is, then fine. But if you want room correction for all of your separate sources (steamer, phono, disc player, TV, Apple TV, whatever) that are plugged into a separate preamp, then that correction has to be done at the level of the preamp.

The Lyngdorf you mention is an integrated amp with a built in streamer and it has inputs for a variety of sources including phono. When you perform room correction using the Lyngdorf it will make corrections for every source that is plugged into it.

I have a Trinnov preamp processor and every source that is plugged into it get its room optimizer treatment. Because it is all digital I have a second all analog preamp that my phono is plugged into. This preamp (which has a home theater pass through) provides the signal for the L and R main speakers. When I listen to my turntable the signal is not corrected.

The Lyngdorf looks pretty cool BTW.

Trinnov is also brilliant… I’m just not familiar with their room correction system. I can’t say which is more brilliant: Trinnov or Lyngdorf.

Yes, you’re right, the 3400 is a streamer amplifier with internet radio, but you should also take a look at the MP 40/60.

There are also separate modules where you can connect everything, including your phono preamp (which then offers improved processing of the analog signal coming from your preamp (although the two RCA inputs are already quite good)), and everything will be calibrated using room correction.

You can also integrate the 3400 as a preamp in home theater systems (for two-channel only) and let it handle the room correction, but those with the money tend to go for the MP 60 or Trinnov, or other professional options.

I could also get a Buy an amplifier for the 3400 and drive everything through the 3400 and the amplifier. Pure bi-amping.

Amplifier for the bass drivers, and midrange and treble through the 3400 – pure bi-amping.

PS:

To everyone!!!

This is yet another incentive for Rose to integrate room calibration into their system.

:boom:This is not meant to be an attempt to poach Rose!!! :boom:

Bonte,

I’ll be honest, I didn’t set up the Trinnov myself, someone came down from Trinnov itself to do the calibrations. I have four in-wall subs and he set up Waveforming forming for me, their proprietary bass management system that supposedly smooths the bass response throughout the room so that no seating position is louder than any other. I think it sounds great, and Dolby Atmos, both movies and music, is pretty special.

Honesty is appreciated. I like honest people! :clap:t2: :+1:t2: :muscle:t2:

No one can know or do everything!

Trinnov’s waveforming is brilliant. Great subwoofers for it are, for example, the MeroVinger Stingray subwoofers (18") :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :+1:t2:

:v:t2:

All your displays pertain to the Lyngdorf ← that’s a preamp {more precisely an integrated amplifier) which is exactly my point. Room Correction is NOT applicable to the RS130 which is a streamer transport (no preamp). Being you have Lyngdorf, do you have another system with a HiFi Rose preamp?

I recommend you indicate which HiFi Rose product you desire Room Correction. BTW, To develop a Room Correction function is very complex and takes a lot of effort. To my acknowledge there are only a few successful sophiscated Room Corrections: Trinnov’s, Anthem’s & Direct ← I’m not familiar with Lyngdorf’s function.

Yes, you can connect a streamer transport to the TDAI 3400 using its digital inputs, such as optical or coaxial inputs, or via a network (LAN). The TDAI 3400 is equipped with a variety of connections that allow for the connection of external devices like streamer transports.

Digital Inputs: Connect the streamer transport to the corresponding inputs on the TDAI 3400 using a digital cable (e.g., coaxial or optical).

Network Connection: If your streamer transport uses a network connection, you can integrate it via the TDAI 3400’s network interface.

Expansion Modules: For even broader compatibility, the TDAI 3400 also offers the option of expansion with digital modules such as HDMI and high-end analog modules, providing additional connectivity options.

PS:
For such “gimmicks,” you unfortunately have the wrong amplifier, or you need to use miniDSP or other room correction equipment.

It absolutely can, if you have a quality source (NAD or EverSolo would do; even Wiim). If you have a pretentious toy with no sub outputs, then it is very limited, although it still would manage at least speaker delays and levels.

Still haven’t managed to score that free 130 from Rose no matter how you try, eh?

True. Except that joy of masturbation, having no clue, claims that it does not do things that it very much does.

In any case, Rose devices are supposed to be rather full-function ones and might well be someone’s only source anyway.
