Spotify does not play lossless

Got it, thanks. I believe it would be a good idea if the device had enough resources to support t least some number of future services.

Hello there, because of the ongoing problems (my Rose RS 130 nevertheless worked fine the 2 years I owned the unit) except when I got it from the Dutch distributor right out of the box the transformer was huming like a bee swarm (quality control??) - the unit went away for 8 weeks and came back after. OK - this can happen…but when I learned about the present scenrio with Spotify lossless (even my Deertime tablet for 99 € can do that) - I happily and gladly sold my RS 130 last week! I had my fun with the Rose - loved the large screen, the nice built and the sound the unit provided - but enough is enough. Since most of my track library is on Spotify I could not life with MP3 format for an unknown period. And history told me how fast Rose is able to implement any major achievement not to mention the numerous bugs over the years or the silence when delicate topics had to be discussed. Now I have my fun with a resonable priced demo unit of Esoteric N-05XD. I miss the display of the Rose but the sound of the Esoteric is much better. So farewell Rose and I never look back. Regards Oliver

No, that would need another box! 🤦

Let’s split the royalties!

Rose should sell an ā€œaudiophile gradeā€ USB hub that would be plugged into the RS-series streamers. Then for that hub they could sell individual USB sticks supporting one and only one streaming service. Each stick would contain hardware optimized for a specific service and would have much inkier blacks and expansive soundstage, because magik!

Just think, for $100 you get Spotify Lossless. $200 brings you another stick with Tidal Connect. Those with more obscure requirements could pay $300 for a stick with Nugs or SiriusXM or something else!

And real audiophiles could be kept occupied forever comparing the sound of Qobuz with and without a Deezer module plugged in!
