I don’t think that there are a set of universal standards.
As a consultant… I’ve had to slot into a lot of different teams and each team was different.
There is a huge difference between mission critical where if you mess up… lives are at stake, vs if you mess up… you can just reboot and the problem is fixed.
Unlike some here. I know some of the pressure to get things done quickly and that you can set aside the standards just to get a working version out the door. So I am willing to cut them some slack.
I also know that they’ve got a lot of moving pieces and what may seem like a simple fix… isn’t. That sometimes you can’t just slap on a patch… but need to rethink and refactor the code.
