Using Ethernet for controlling - now problems

Glad it is working for you now.

In my quick test, the one and only app that had a problem with a wired connection was Rose One (and Rose Connect was unhappy). Probably because everyone else followed the guidelines while low-cost interns Rose hired (and Mike…) thought they know better.

First, I don’t attack Boris. He starts it, and I am more than happy to finish it.

Second:
From WebMD:
" Is Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Real?

Researchers haven’t found a clear link between exposure to electromagnetic fields and health problems, but it’s not for lack of trying. Nearly 50 controlled studies couldn’t reproduce EHS symptoms in a lab.

Still, the symptoms associated with electromagnetic hypersensitivity are real and can be disabling."

Which is why I said that you shouldn’t own a cell phone.
Nor live in a city. Any city because of the 5G roll out… along w every store, home, etc … having wi-fi access points and some homes having multiple access points. So you’re exposed to lots of radio emissions.

Nor should she board an aircraft.

And if you read what I wrote… its not something that would be high on Rose’s list of things to fix.
Moving to Android 13 would be a higher priority although a much tougher endeavor.

And what practical purpose would it serve?

Funny how desperate Rose bagholders would defend even what is a trivial, easily fixed, and obvious bug. That affects only Rose app, because developers have only a very vague idea how networking works.

Thanks Mike for your answer.
We live 8 kilometers from the nearest mobile mast and 2 kilometers from the nearest neighbor. We have broadband.

Well Boris… when you have libraries not being back ported, you tell me.

Yeah, when that happens you can get back to us. And targeting a version of Android that is already just as obsolete to work around that makes all the sense in your world too!

And there you have it.
Boris yet again misses the point.

Tell me Boris… what version of Android does HiFi Rose use?
What does the rest of the industry use? (Those that use Android.)

And of course iBasso DX340 is using either a stripped down version of Android or Android 13.

That’s because you’ve never had one. As usually happens, you start talking about things, but because you have no idea what you are actually talking about there is no point that can bed discerned, other than the usual “Mikey is running his mouth again.”

Of course this makes no sense whatsoever, but it is to be expected from someone whose only knowledge of computers comes from watching “War Games” one too many times.

And sorry, nobody cares what version of Android some shady company that’s afraid to even list its address on its site (probably because it’s in a Chinese hard labor camp) uses in a third-rate player you were once again talked into buying.

“The Industry” uses anything from v. 7 (if not lower) to v. 15. It does not matter. Everything people have been clamoring for is available on Android 7 just fine. At some point it may not be. At some point support for Android 16 will be dropped, too. Any current Rose device will fry itself long before that.

Now you see Boris, your ignorance is showing more and more.

What is Mango?
Perhaps you don’t like my description?

You not only don’t know the underlying tech, but also nothing about running a business.
I bet you’ve never sat thru planning sessions where you have to mentor the team and help keep things on track. (Can you say SAFe?) Been thru many of those sessions over the years in both the developer role, thru the product owner and program owner.

So please get a friggin clue.

Since you said the industry uses older version of Android… go on what current products use older versions of android?

I really don’t know and the oldest current version that I know of is 11 which is what Rose currently uses.

I can absolutely believe that you were a seagull consultant. You talk a lot, with great conviction, and with not even a shred of a clue as to what you are talking about. Implementing the BS you sold would be someone else’s job anyway.

That would explain why you have to scour shops for second-hand rejects, as you always bet wrong. Maybe your family should stage an intervention…

Funny how you, as usual, “know” things that are wrong. And that even Rose, which is using Android 7 (well, 7.1) does not know.

Maybe you should after all stop digging when you are so deep in the hole?

Well Boris I stand corrected.
Here I thought they were only on 11 and yet its now showing via AI to be 7.1

Which makes it even more understandable why they can’t get Spotify Lossless support.

:man_facepalming:
Of course it would not occur to you to look at the official spec, rather than going with some AI slop.

Except it does not since Spotify is perfectly fine with v.7 bu why would you care to check for anything facts-based when some AI will happily tell you any nonsense you want to hear?!

Mikey, stop it… Boris will tear you to shreds with one finger.

Please do your research properly before you want to compete against Boris.
