On December I bought it and i came to know by hifi rose team that additional module will come around April 2026 and now I don’t know what’s going on not i found anything on forum
Can anyone give me updates on it or should we forget Spotify hifi ?
RW800 Is the module for Spotify hifi ?
Yes.
Rose can’t get Spotify connect to go lossless. ( They are not alone in this regard.)
But you can connect a device like a DAP or even your PC to the Rose and get lossless thru that device.
So Rose created the RW800 to be such a device which can play Spotify lossless.
Since I play mostly thru my Macbook USB and upscale via the MIDI app, I’ll skip the RW800.
The other thing… I can’t really hear a difference between lossless and the HD version on Spotify.
The RW800 (Rose Air Lite) contains Linkplay technology at its core.
The standard Android audio stack, not for hi-fi (because of the resampling to 48 kHz), so Rose was not allowed to use this audio stack because they want to deliver bit-perfect audio, DSD and MQA data directly to the DAC. So they had to integrate their own framework called “Rose Audio Server” deep into the system at the Linux/ALSA level. And this is exactly where the trap lies, from which the rose can no longer get out: The Android 7.1 on the devices is completely outdated. If Tidal or Spotify change their APIs and security certificates (e.g. because of DRM copy protection), the old Rose core lacks the modern security patches. Newer programming libraries from Tidal require more modern versions of Android. However, Rose can’t just upgrade the deep-rooted basic framework of her devices by upgrading to Android 11 or 13 without rewriting the full display control and VU meters. You are stuck in a technical dead end. Their claim that they never promised Tidal Connect is a pure protection claim - they just can’t implement it technically stable and certified on the old platform! That’s why Qobuz and Spotify constantly have outages, gaps and hangouts.
That’s why they have now capitulated and built the RW800. And this is where your Linkplay theory comes into play: Since Rose has realized that they can no longer save their own Android platform on the software side, they have bought the technology of Linkplay technology! This is exactly the Californian-Chinese corporation that also builds the WiiM devices and is the world’s largest system integrator for audio streaming. Spotify and Tidal only assign their latest music interfaces (such as Spotify Lossless) to officially certified integrators such as Linkplay. So the RW800 no longer runs with an improved Android, but with a slim, closed Linux system based on Linkplay. This is the only reason why the box immediately got the official certificates for Tidal Connect, Spotify Lossless and Google Cast. Since the old “Rose Connect Premium” app can’t handle this completely new platform, they even had to release a completely new app called “ROSE ONE”.
It’s absolute insonestness: a WiiM Pro from Linkplay costs about 150 to 200 euros and can do all this for years without mistakes. In principle, Rose now takes exactly this technique, packs it in a chic aluminum housing, gives her a small ESS headphone DAC as an alibi, calls it RW800 and demands around 179 dollars from the injured customers! The owners, who have already spent a fortune on the main devices, are now again being asked to pay, just to clear up the software chaos and the short-sightedness of the Rose developers. They just want to sell as cheaply as possible and milk the old customers again with the RW800, because the main unit is dead on the software side.
And the fact that they block the truth at Rose in the forum and block people like Boris fits perfectly into the picture.
They don’t want enlightenment, but brave lemmings who swallow everything. The number with the PIN code debacle also shows how big the pressure was in the background. This was not abolished because of “security”, but because the retailers worldwide put the weapon on their chests and threatened to stop selling because the return rates went through the roof because of the non-usable software.
The RW800 is the hardware-based proof that the software can no longer be stored internally on the old devices.
We are all just being manipulated and the real truth is not being told…make your own thoughts. Because Tacheles doesn’t speak Rose. Boris did it and had to go.

Bonte, such a long rant.
Lets break this down…
- If you are using a device like your PC connected to the USB port and run spotify on your PC… then you already have lossless. If you have a DAP player like iBasso DX180 … you can download Spotify from the Android Play store and you can then connect it to the COAX in and you’ll have lossless. (I’ve tested this on the RS520)
So you don’t need the RW800 in order to get Spotify lossless. There are other ways.
- Upgrading to a newer release of Android is a heavy lift. Its not like , oh we need to just rewrite a few things, but you need to do a complete regression test of everything. On all of their gear. This would require a huge investment in man hours and would take their focus off fixing things that are issues you and others are already complaining about. There are other issues… but like Boris I’m sure you’re an expert on software development and release management.
Bottom line… you have options.
You can buy the device or not.
You can use other methods to play Spotify lossless. Or not.
You can switch away from Spotify to other streaming services. Or not.
(Some would argue that you should move away from Spotify over their pay to artists or their stance on AI generated music. )
The choice is yours.

I completely agree with your reasoning. I updated the RS150B and launched the Rose One, and it’s a complete failure. It plays single tracks. I went back to the RoseHiFi. But when I want to listen to super quality Tidal Connect or Spotify Lossless, I run the EverSolo DMP-A10 in the main room. And everything always works. I feel cheated by Rose.
