5.7 update problem - The AirPlay device "ROSE -00" is not compatible with this version of iTunes

I have just updated my RS201 to the 5.7 update and lost my connection with iTunes on my computer.

I get a message saying that “The AirPlay device “ROSE-00” is not compatible with this version of iTunes”.

I am on Windows 10 using the latest version of iTunes (iTunes Version 12.13.4.4).

I tried the Early Access update and have the same problem. Previously I was on Rose version 4.??. Can you roll me back to the version I had before the 5.7 update? I only use iTunes to stream my music collection and now this update makes my Rose useless.

I had the same problem when I updated in October. On October I asked if there were any plans to allow iTunes to connect in the future. At that time they said there were no plans. It was my most frequent use of my RS250A. Very disappointing.

Thanks for the input. Did you try changing to Apple Music? I am scared to do this as it might not solve the problem and also mess up my library, ratings and playlists

Sort of. I am running iTunes on Windows and I’ve heard some horror stories regarding Apple Music on Windows. But what I did try was sharing my iTunes library with Apple Music on my iPhone. You need to turn on sharing in iTunes with your iPhone account info. Sharing does not actually store your complete iTunes collection on the iPhone (not enough room). It copies your iTunes .xml files onto your phone. For my iTunes library (20K songs) this takes about 3-4 minutes. Then the iPhone knows where everything is. When you play a song (or a Playlist) it moves one song at a time over to the phone and plays it. In my case, it worked great with the HiFi-Rose.
