About New 'Media Library' (DB scan)

I am sorry that I missed this “Notice” earlier. I know I’m getting to the dance a little late but I mainly have one simple request: please read all of the metadata of every file correctly. Especially Title, Album, Artist, Picture MIME Type, Picture Type (Read the Picture correctly), and do it for EVERY file. After a DB scan many of these items are missing. They are critical. This is great news for me and I look forward being able to utilize the SSD in installed.

Is there any update on this?

How about an early access of this version now, please.

An update to the EA version will be released next week.

Rosehan,

Congratulations to the programming team. Their efforts are very much appreciated.

To add to my previous post I would suggest that In RoseRadio that of the 16 fixed categories only 11 relate to music and those categories are virtually useless for a music aficionado. For example one category is"Music". That doesn’t exactly narrow it down much, does it? It is essential that users have the ability to add their own categories. Roon, for example has 21 top level categories of music and countess sub-categories.

We will review the matter internally and make any changes that need to be made.

@ROSEHAN The new DB scan needs some improvement. Yes it’s fast but when you rescanning to add the new albums it’s doesn’t delete albums from library that i have deleted the files. Only adding. Even if i change the file type of an album from alac to flac deleting the alac files then instead of 12 tracks shows 24 on the album and each track doubled.

since a year from your promises the management of media library in Rose 150B is not improved. The experience of the user is very bad and the performance of RS150b is a disaster comparing to the benchmark of my Cocktail audio x30 that is older and cheaper mediaplayer
After many times initialitation and scan of my database (over 100.000 songs in SSD), I can play only 2.488 files!
ROSE ID: 0D23E0
System: 5.7

The RS150b can manage a very limited number of songs. I have a library with over 10.000 songs and Rose can play less than 3.500 songs.
It’s a terrible limit for my experience

@penz

I understand that Kihoon is currently handling this symptom.
Have you not received an answer yet?

@ROSEHAN

Rescan needs to clean up the user’s database library for every deleted file/folder ← in essence, Rescan is to walk through every database library item to ensure there’s a file/folder for each media item in the database library (if there’s no file/folder, remove the corresponding item from the database library)

The Rescan function is designed to clean up the database library by checking each media item and verifying that its corresponding file or folder still exists.
If a file or folder has been deleted or moved, Rescan will automatically remove the associated entry from the library.
This ensures that the database reflects only the current, valid files in your storage.

Not agree with you. After deleting a track or a folder or even just changing the tag of a song, they are still shown on my library or show in double (old + new).

It worked only the first time after the update and stopped working afterwards. I responded to that on the EA 5.8.

I will also add : even when i move a folder (album) to another folder or hard disk, after a rescan the album is shown 2 times on my library. The only solution is to completly deleting db and start a new scan from scratch.

Exactly! Any source folder change as add/remove makes various db problems. Only delete db and create new db eventually works.

The worst is that we already mentioned that problem a dozen times but hifi rose continues to ignore this bugs since months.
And after that some of the people says that we act bad against hifi rose.

To hifi rose please build a new app from scratch instead of trying to resolve the numerous bugs on rose connect.

Jimibxl,

Linkplay (Wiim’s parent Company) does what you are requesting and a responsible software company always maintains a public list of software errors.

All HiFi Rose has to do is copy what Linkplay does.
This should keep multiple reports down and give users an idea of the priority for corrections and when a fix can be expected. I’ve requested this before.
