Does anyone have recommendations for a reputable acoustic panel brand in the USA for a small room?
Iβve used GIK Acoustics. They have online tools where you enter in room dimensions, etc. and the tool guides you to the appropriate panels. They also have ways to chat or eMail their experts for advice.
I am in the uk, but also have installed GIK panels. Best upgrade I have made.
I have vicoustics which is made in Portugal, but many resellers in US. They too have a service to help you plan the room. I did that with them. I had a mix of their stuff and knock off of their stuff made by UA off of amazon or their website. They are Ukrainian, so I love supporting them as well.
Here is how they had me set my room up with the panels I owned. @Freakystyle Those slats look amazing
Looking very good. I also have ceiling panels and more wall panels from Kvadrat that do the job.
Without good acoustics it makes no sense to have expensive audio equipment.
I used GIK panels, bass traps, diffusers, and clouds in my12βx14β long with 11β ceilings and have been very happy with them!
My room is bigger but I am very jealous of your 11β ceilings. I think mine are very limiting factor in my room. But it is what it is.
Looks phenomenal . Well done.
Beautiful, simple and clean.
Very nice room. Is that a PS audio P20 I can see ?
Fittebd:Thanks for recognizing ceiling height with clouds but that is a beautiful, warm looking room and I bet it sounds great! Congrats!!
Make your own. Mineral wool insulation wrapped with thick felt on to 1/4" pegbord.
Mineral wool + pegboard + thick felt is a solid combo for an acoustic panel! Hereβs why it works well:
Mineral Wool β Excellent for absorbing mid-to-high frequencies and providing some bass absorption, especially if itβs 2"β4" thick.
Pegboard β Adds structure while allowing some sound to pass through, preventing excessive reflection. If spaced off the wall slightly (e.g., 1"), it can enhance bass absorption.
Thick Felt β Acts as a durable, aesthetically pleasing outer layer while still allowing sound to be absorbed. Make sure itβs breathable; dense synthetic felt could reflect some high frequencies. A wool-blend or natural fiber felt is preferable.
SAVE 1000s $ oh I forgot to mention i did it. Dead silence. Acoustically measured and stable. Had one problem in the beginning with bass standing in one location in the room, 13 x 23. It was a subwoofer positioning issue.
