Again Home Assistant and/or rest services

This was asked many times, but I’ve to ask again.
Because protocol/communication has changed (now all controls through IP are encrypted) the former HA for the RS520 integration doesn’t works anymore.
Because also wireshark helps here anymore and workarounds through DLNA or Apple TV (only for control rudiment media controls) also not working.
At the moment the only option is to use the roon integration (or for me the http api from roon), which handles for shure only the roon part.

So again: Please add a HA integration for the rose devices or/and publish your used protocol.
Nearly other brands producing streamers are open for this without Hifi Rose.

Sounds like they added tls ?
And you’re saying other audio products don’t do this?
(That their connectivity is all unencrypted? )

Yes they are using (without in one case) tls 1.2.
This was a change in one of the last firmware updates.
Other brands don’t encrypt or offer implementation for e.g. HA.
Also DLNA is in general uncrypted, but also here Hifi Rose uses their own way…

Hmmm.
Remember they got spooked by the EU directive to protect PII information.
So while I’m not surprised by the TLS, I would have thought they would have gone w TLS 1.3.

I don’t know if they are going their own way.
They may actually be ahead of the curve on this.

You have to remember that Rose is still on Android 7.x (Their own modified version.)

While I agree with you that it would be nice for Rose to expose their API, I can imagine that they are thinking about potential security issues.

Currently, there is no official Home Assistant integration available for HiFi ROSE devices.

We understand the need for Home Assistant integration, especially for basic controls such as power on/off, volume adjustment, and input source selection.

Although Home Assistant is not officially supported at this time, we are considering possible support options for the future. We appreciate your feedback and will take your request into consideration for future development.
