Anything else besides Roon, Audirvana or Rose App?

I’ve had my RS150 for a month now. I’ve been using it with Roon mostly, but did try Audirvana for a spell and even connected my external SSD’s and used the Rose app. I hate how Roon messes with my maticuously tagged files and how unstable Audirvana is. As for the Rose app, it’s just ok. I really want to keep my SSD’s attached to my MAC Mini because for outside my network I use PLEX. It does not mess with my files and using Plexamp had been awesome. I do not subscribe to Qobuz, Tidal or Apple Music. All my files are local. I can use PLEX to airplay to my RS150, but track info and cover art does not appear on the nice large color screen. Is anyone using anything else besides Roon, Audirvana or the Rose app for playback that all the info will show on the nice large touchscreen? Please share! Thank you!

I don’t get it about, how roon messes up with your tags.
You can specify on more or less each TAG, if you prefer your tagging or what roon found.

When you spend so much money just to use it with airplay, then something is wrong.

When you don’t like Roon and Audirvana - then you’re pretty much through.
The DB of the Rose is not sufficient for my collection. I’m more than happy with roon, because I could configure it to match my purposes.

I have also Plex, but don’t use it for music. Plex did scan also strange things, and for sure not what is inside a tagged FLAC. But to be honest, Plex is setup some days ago, and I did not read through the details, how to import the files.

Thanks for your reply. I have Roon set to ‘prefer file’ on everything. I set it up that way even before import. Do you see how your second picture you posted shows Alan Parsons/The Alan Parsons Project/Andrew Parsons? I do not care for that. I just want to see main artist and how I have it tagged. I have this album and in my file I have it tagged Alan Parsons Project. Why would that other stuff appear? I will post 2 pics. The first one I have tagged under artist and album artist ‘Ahmad Jamal’. No where in my tags do I have Johnny Burke. In the second photo I have it tagged ‘Bill Evans’. No where in my tags do I have Ira Gershwin or DuBose Hayward. This is Roon. Audirvana does not do this, but it is elementary compared to Roon…

I agree with you - this is Roon. Adding exactly these informations.

These information come from the Automated Match in the Global Roon DB.
Your local stuff will be compare and best match is taken.
manually you can edit the album, and say “no album matches” - then a pop up will appear whis lets you choose to only have the local basic stuff form the file. This is what you look for?
I did it for the Alan Parsons album, and the Rose would look like you would expect.

you have to ask in the Roon Forum, as this has nothing to do with the Rose - it’s simply displaying, what Roon sends.
For me and classical music, it’s exactly what i was looking for.

Roon is very unique, but also not fully flexible. I love it - but I can understand your position when you just want to see, what’s inside your files - not more.

Yes! You figured out a much quicker way to get these tags corrected without having to go into each album and each track Thank you!
