Does the eArc HDMI support Apple TV HDMI output for Hires Audio and at what resolutions?
Hello,
RS150 only supports HDMI-ARC, not eARC. According to the standard, it is a stereo 16bit LPCM and supports only one sampling frequency among 32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz, and the DVD standard 48kHz is the dominant one.
Therefore, 192kHz (HDR) of eARC is not supported. In other words, when an ARC-supported device (RS150) is connected to an eARC-supported TV, it operates as ARC rather than eARC.
The TV may switch automatically or there may be an eARC/ARC selection in the TV User menu.
To support eARC, RS150’s HDMI ChipSet and Firmware must be changed, so it will be reviewed in future products.
I was looking at the eARC since I have an AppleTV which has HDMI as the only output.
Is there any way to play Apple Music hi-res through either the 150 or 250?
