Apple tv @ rose rs520

Hello. Is it possible to connect the Apple TV to the eARC input? I can’t get the apple TV image to project on the TV screen. Thanks and best regards

The Apple TV is 4K and is updated with the latest version. The RS520 too. Thanks again

@Gonzalo22

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

It seems possible to connect in the form of AppleTV → TV–>eARC–>RS520.
But I think we need to check this part.

Thank you

I connected Apple TV via HDMI ears and was not successful. I would really like to do this if there is a fix or a process that works.

I have a few questions for you.

  1. What is the model name of your Rose device?
  2. When you connect your Apple TV and your Rose device via EARC, does the Apple TV recognize the Rose device?
  3. Is there sound from the Apple TV itself, but only when connected to eARC?
  4. Please tell us the Apple TV model you are using and the TV model name.

Hi there. Thanks for responding.

I have the RS-520. I bought a new Apple TV 4K and connected to the 520 via eArc. I already had HDMI out connected from the 520 to the TV successfully. The 520 acknowledged the connection via eArc on the TV display with a graphic message, but I never could get picture or sound from the Apple TV.

Good morning @Sirpopealot,

Your plan is interesting and when I got my 520 in April, I also thought about the connection. I also have the latest generation Apple TV streaming box with a LAN connection.

But what do you do if you want to watch normal TV (just the TV speakers) without an amplifier? For example at night when everyone is asleep?

Maybe I didn’t think further about Apple TV when I installed the 520 in April and have connected the normal HDMI of the Rose520 to TV HDMI and a fiber optic cable from my LG OLED TV to the Rose. That way, if I ever use it, I can also output the sound via the 520.

PS:
My Apple TV streaming box is currently connected to my eACR-HDMI (1x on the LG-OLED) of the TV and the Rose520 is connected to HDMI TV via its HDMI output, as I said, then the Toslink from the TV is connected to the Toslink input on Rose.

Well, you’ll all probably have home cinema systems…I don’t.

Your project is interesting and I’ll keep following it here.

Regards, Bonte

Hi there, I’m new to this forum, looks like a great community.

I’m considering buying the rs520. My HIFI “needs” are fully covered by this wonderful device. In addition, I’d like to watch TV and movies through Apple TV as a source and a fixed installed 4k beamer on the ceiling of my living room . The beamer receives the video signal through HDMI. That should work with the HDMI out of the rs520. What concerns me is, if I can hook up the Apple TV to the eArc HDMI input, so it transfers the video signal to the HDMI output.

The previous posts didn’t come to a conclusion.

Thanks so much for a clarification!
Best regards Hans

@x-ray

The HDMI ARC/eARC input on the RS520 is designed specifically for receiving audio from a TV or display device back into the RS520. It cannot be used as a standard HDMI video input. Therefore, an Apple TV cannot be connected through the RS520’s eARC input for video passthrough to your projector.

The HDMI output of the RS520 is intended for displaying the Rose interface (UI, album art, etc.) on an external screen, not for passing through external video sources.

For your setup, we recommend connecting the Apple TV directly to your 4K projector for video, while using either HDMI eARC (from the projector or TV back to the RS520) or a separate audio connection (optical, coaxial, etc.) to deliver audio into the RS520.
