Authenticator or Decoder mode

Question on the MQA Authenticator or Decoder mode, if I am using the RS250 as a DAC to playback MQA music, I will use Decoder ?

What about If I use the DAC from my McIntosh, using digital coaxial cable from RS250 to my Mc. Do I select Authenticator ? or still using Decoder?

I have a related question: which, if any, of the digital INPUTS of the RS-150 can decode MQA music? Or is the only MQA capability of the Rose when playing back MQA (Masters) files from Tidal?

I think you want Decoder mode because the McIntosh cannot do MQA natively. I just did some testing at my local McIntosh dealer and we found that in Authenticator mode the McIntosh showed the native 48kHz sampling on its DAC. Switching to decoder the McIntosh was playing at 96kHz through the DAC.
