"B" stock with RS150b, why?

Hifi Rose,

I am seeing an influx of “B” stock inventory of RS150b’s being sold in the USA. B stock (see picture) is different than opened box or returned items as these are units that were refurbished or repaired by the manufacture. Is there a known defect that required Hifi Rose to repair these at the factory and if so is this something that is a known repairable issue with units that are currently in the hands of your customers. Is this a repair / refurbishment something existing owners should be concerned about as, once again, I am seeing a lot of these “B,” stock units available for purchase and for a US based company to either buy “B,” stock directly from the manufacture or to return units that need to be repaired / refurbished into “B,” stock quality is a lot of effort considering that the factory is in Korea. Why did so many units need repairs and what are the issues?

Hello Duffer,

The B-Stock HiFi Rose you are referring are mostly Open-Box Returns in perfect working condition. Others have slight cosmetic flaws and/or scratches. Few undergo Part Replacements for DOA’s or Cracked Screens (During Shipping). New factory parts are used if necessary & doesn’t void the current manufacture warranty(2-Years if purchased from Authorized Dealers in the US).

Thank you for the explanation. Still kind of confused as the B stock sounds just like open box. In the B stock description it states that the manufacture either refurbished the product or it left their factory as B stock. Is Mofi considered the manufacture? And if the B stock are mostly open box returns why are they discounted at 20% where a true open box is only 13% in discount. Is one a benefit over the other? Also for replacement parts you mention that these are replaced. Is this done by Mofi or Hifi Rose or are you both one and the same?

Could it also be that these are returned units from dissatisfied customers as there are many of those???
