Good morning, I would like to ask a simple question……is the Rose Rs 150 B NATIVE with balanced output (XLR) or unbalanced output (RCA)? I would like to connect my Rose RS150B to my new amplifier equipped with balanced inputs but I read that many claim that one of the 2 channels is heard much louder than the other channel… Can you provide me with some clarifications? Thank you
In reality this is not the case, the inputs of your amplifier will accept the balanced signal in the same way as it can in unbalanced. In any case, the RS 150b is able to modify the output level whether you use the balanced or unbalanced outputs, so you can adapt them to your liking, or rather CORRECTLY with your amplifier.
thanks Flash, usually however the electronics come from the manufacturer with the outputs preferably in one specific way or another (balanced or unbalanced depending on the internal electronic circuits of construction). Then of course you can change them from the settings but I wanted to know WHAT the preferential outputs were. amplifiers also have the same preference (input) and that’s why I wanted to know this information from Rose. thanks for the help
In RS150b, there is a difference between balanced output (XLR) or unbalanced output (RCA).
Please refer to the table below.
Additionally, if you look at the preout level settings on your RS150b, the balanced output (XLR) has about twice the output of the unbalanced output (RCA). However, even if the amplifier you have has the same preferences, there will be a difference in volume, but it will not be twice as loud.
Thank you so much Rose Han. one last question…Does the Rose RS150B have an electronic stage DEDICATED to XLR outputs?..is it preferable to use the XLR outputs or the RCA outputs in this device since I would like to combine it with an Accuphase E250? Thank you so much for the valuable advice and clarifications.
I use an Accuphase E470 with the Rs150b. I use the XLR connection at 4000mv, it’s impeccable.
Thank you Gillesbonatti.
When using a network streamer with XLR output, such as RS150b, we recommend using an XLR connection rather than an RCA connection.
thanks for your advice! I definitely will
