Hi, I’ve had the RS130 since December 2024 connected to the soulnote D2 via USB. When playing a Qobuz playlist, randomly, the tracks mute during playback. I have to pause then play to get back to 99% audio output. Do you have a solution for imposing this 100% audio output?

Does the same symptom occur when you turn off RS250–>Input/Output Settings → USB Detailed Settings (gear icon) → USB Audio Volume Control?

Have you enabled the feature I indicated above?
Do you still see the same problem?

your solution seems to work. Thanks

Hello, I am experiencing random problems with my RS130 during playback. The sound randomly drops to 0 on an entire track and then goes back to 100% on the next one! Do you have a solution to this problem?
The solution with the usb output volume control is not permanent solution. Sometime, the problem appears. I don’t know why.

@david59820

Please answer a few questions for us.

  1. Are you saying that when you play certain tracks on the RS130, the sound suddenly stops?
  2. When there is no sound from the RS130, does the sound return if you play a different track?
  3. How is your RS130 connected to your DAC?
  4. If this issue occurs with specific tracks, could you please provide those audio files?

Please send the problematic audio files to the email address below:

1 – From the very beginning of the track, there is no sound. This happens randomly, whether from Qobuz or from the SSD drive.
2 – Yes, on another track or the next one, the sound comes back, but it’s random. I would say that out of 20 tracks, about 5 have no sound.
3 – The RS130 is connected via USB to the Soulnote D2 DAC.
4 – As already discussed, it’s random, and a track with no sound one day may have sound the next day. Strange, and I don’t understand where this comes from.

Thank you for your help. It’s a shame, and I’m thinking of selling it because I don’t have a solution.

Please help us with a few additional questions.

  1. When your RS130 is connected to the Soulnote D2 DAC via USB, does the same issue occur if you use a different USB cable?

  2. When there is no sound, does the connection between the RS130 and the Soulnote D2 DAC remain active, or does it disconnect?

  3. Does the same issue occur even after performing a factory reset on your RS130?
    RS130 → Settings → System Settings → Factory Reset

Hello,

  1. Changing the cable did not resolve the issue.
  2. It remains active.
  3. The issue was eventually resolved after a factory reset.

Thank you for the information.

Kind regards,

I replaced the USB cable between the RS130 and the SoulNote D2 with an RCA-to-RCA (coaxial) cable.
So far, I haven’t noticed any anomaly on the RS130’s audio output.
I’m going to test with an AES/EBU cable between the two to confirm this test.
The problem does seem to come from the USB connection between the HIFIROSE RS130 and the SOULNOTE D2.
To be continued.

@david59820

Yes, if additional dropouts occur when using the USB connection between the HiFi ROSE RS130 and the SOULNOTE D2, please record a video showing the issue and send it to the email address below.
