I have an RS520 if I connect a Bluetooth transmitter to optical out will it allow me to use bloothtooth headphones? Or if I connect a Bluetooth usb dac dongle to usb out will this allow me to use Bluetooth headphones? If not what is the solution.

RS520 supports Bluetooth receive function and does not support transmit function.
So, in order to listen to the sound of RS520 with Bluetooth headphones, you must connect a product that can transmit the SPDIF output of RS520 to Bluetooth to listen to it with headphones.
So where would I put the transmitter optical or usb?
It depends on what Bluetooth transmission you want to use.
In the case of the Bluetooth transceiver shown in the link above, you can listen with Bluetooth headphones by connecting the RS520 to the Bluetooth transceiver using optical output.
