Calibrate analog output to cinch standard mV

ROSE RS520

How can i calibrate the output mV of the analog cinch output to the standard level of the specification so that the volume level is the same is with other audio devices like for example CD player ???

As per now, the volume level of the ROSE on analog cinch cableing is very low compared tot the CD player on cinch.

I think you need to find ‘Output Settings’ for PRE OUT. Then choose output level to match your CD player. Usually Line Out devices are 500mV, and CD player has 2V at the outputs, but it depends upon the load too (your amp or preamp input impedance).

Thank you Serge, i will try it out. It seems to disable the variable volume.

It is obvious that if you indicate an output value it is on a fixed level.

Yes and No.
I am still thinking whether there is a way around this logic or not.

If it is a variable output it is the opposite of a fixed output!!

Yes yes

i would like to set a fixed output value say 2000mV plus variable volume + 4dB - 8dB.
The fixed value would be set every time after the power on of the unit. The variable value is there to set it via the ROSE device to change the volume of the system.

It is the role of the preamp to vary the volume.

I thought you use your CD player line output, which is fixed. And you have an integrated amp or preamp. Then if you make RS520 also fixed with 2000mV at unbalanced (RCA cinch) you more or less calibrate the two levels.
But if you want to use RS520 as a preamp it’s a different situation.
