Can SACDs be ripped to the RS150B?

So many problems with my RS150B. Basic question: I have the optinal CD Drive. Can I rip SACDs to the internal storage?

No. You can’t rip SACDs with the optional drive since it only recognizes CDs.

You can convert sacd to dsd and then copy DSD files to RS150 internal storage maybe?

Using my Oppo BDP-103 and free software on the internet I have ripped all of my SACDs and now can play the exported .DSD files.

Thanks all. I have also ripped and saved through my Cocktail and can play from an external drive or transfer by network although there are limitations on what the RS150 can play. I wish we could save the contents of an external drive to the internal drive which would be much faster and kess prone to errors.

You can do it via samba - I can connect from my PC to SSD in Rose. Flawless

No, it isn’t flawless. Large libraries take a great deal of time, tend to disconnect before finishing and in my case errors were generated. Being able to copy directly from an external drive, a la Cocktail, is superior and woud be an excellent feature for the RS 150B which is a wonderful machine

Hello,

I apologize for any inconvenience.

  1. What kind of file did the error occur when transferring?
  2. How big was the files you tried to transfer?
  3. Are your PC and ROSE device all connected by Ethernet?

You should use ethernet connection for large files. I did transfer 150 GB of music files over ethernet and there were no trouble whatsoever. Other users within home network also transfer their ripped music and they do not have any trouble either. Average transfer rate is ca 50MB/sec.

Thanks for that. My library is 1.5TB and ethernet is not practical in my setup. The errors were 0 content files and media not found. I erased and did it again. The transfers took about a day each. I’m still working on it. The learning curve is steep, but so far very much worth it.

Here are the two error messages that once again are appearing:
1> Invalid data found when processing input
2>The song cannot be played. the next song will be played

How can I fix this?

Hello,

  1. Where is the file saved when you saw that ’ Invalid data found when processing input’ message?
    Is the file scanned?

  2. Is the file you played in SSD?

The file is saved in the internal drive, the folder is called ROSEDISK. The folder was scanned
