CD drive RSA780 regularly ejects CDs

My CD player RSA780 regularly ejects several CDs during playback. On-screen communication: The CD is not recognized playback stops.
CD is not damaged or dirty.
Thanks in advance for the answer.

@mmooy

After reviewing your symptoms, it appears that the issue may be related to the mechanism (MECHA).

Additionally, even if a CD is not scratched or visibly damaged, this type of issue can occur if the disc is slightly warped or bent.

Could you please let us know whether this automatic ejection issue occurs with all of your CDs, or only with specific CDs during playback?

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best reader,

Ejection is done with more and more CDs. Especially for CDs with a long playing time. The relevant CDs play fine on another CD player. It seems that the error correction does not work. Can that be set on my HiFi Rose RS520?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

Do you have another transport with a digital output that you can connect to the Rose like an old CD player?

Yes, I have a DVD player that I can digitally connect to the Rose as a CD player. And what can I do?

Any USB CD drive will work just as well as Roses (although it may not look quite as well sitting next to it). I’ve used some spare Apple DVD drive I ad in the back of a drawer when testing it, and it worked just fine. It actually matched the design pretty well, too. This being an asynchronous data (not even digital audio) connection, any standard USB drive will work exactly the same, and you could find a drive that’s much better on marginal/scratched/damaged disks for under $100…

Well I suggested it as a test of your Rose CD player so that you can decide if you want to return it or use your old player as an alternative. I was also going to suggest an Apple Super Drive, but it was discontinued. As Boris said, there are a lot of alternatives if you are willing to use a non-Rose device.

Indeed. Apple’s drives kinda suck on anything that’s not a Mac because they lack eject button anyway. But you can get a name brand external drive in aluminum case (so it will match the Rose well enough), and with either the very same mechanism or a better one, for under $40. Under $30 if you want to risk some unknown company making the enclosure and packaging a drive in it.

@mmooy With my RSA-780 I’d never your issue and I’m using a lot of burned and old CDs.
So I would say like @ROSEHAN that your CD drive may physical damaged und you need a replacement from your dealer.
