Change in specification

Dear All,
Can you tell me when exactly RS150 has been changed from AKM to ESS architecture? Is there a specific serial number or something to be sure what version is?

RS150 has AK4499, RS150B has ESS9038. Earlier were only RS150 without /B/.

I understand that, but how can I tell the difference?

If you have sticker on device or box with /B/ letter, it is ESS9038. If it is without /B/ letter, it is AK4499.
First orders have been realized about 2 months ago? I guess.

So changing of DAC chip is obvious but what does that mean in terms of sounds and performances?
I have choice of buying both version, but other than the technical information on the website (which as a non-technical person, I don’t understand), what are the differences?

Sounds?
Features? Etc.
Are other technical improvement added in the ESS (b) version that AK version don’t have?

i was told there was some with the original are still about but in silver colour all black ones are the 2nd chip. , the specs seem identical , the sound quality is more to do with everything else ,the power supply is the main item.
