Dear all,
Has anyone has ever compared the RA180 & 280 side by side? Other than more module was installed on 180 for biamping or bridge purposes, or more functions pre-installed, considering for 2 channel only sonically, are 2 model actually has significant differences? They both just share the same power too. Thanks!
Thank you for your question about comparing the RA180 and RA280.
-
Core design and sound quality: Both amplifiers share the same core amplifier technology and deliver a very similar sonic character when used in a standard 2-channel stereo setup.
-
Key difference – modular design:
The RA180 has an additional amplifier module, which allows bi-amping, bridged operation, and more advanced multi-speaker configurations.
The RA280 is designed as a simpler, two-channel version without those extra modules. -
Features and functions: The RA180 includes more functions and flexible connection options compared to the RA280, which is more streamlined.
So, if your focus is purely on 2-channel listening, there is no significant sonic difference between the RA180 and RA280.
The main differences come from the flexibility and additional features available on the RA180.
I see. Thank you for your explanation!
