Connectivity HifiRose RS151 dropped with Roon

Hello

I first had contact with Roon about the drop outs from the HifiRose. This is what they told me.
Is it possible that the latest firmware is causing these problems. FW 5.11.08

We’ve been through the logs from your Nucleus and from the RS151 itself. Each time the RS151 dropped, the cause was on the RS151’s side of the network, not on the Nucleus.

The clearest example is the drop at 16:10 UTC on Nov 5. The RS151’s own log shows its network connection going down: its 192.168.y.115 address disappeared and it reported “network is unreachable”. Roon reconnected about 7 seconds after the address came back. Earlier, on Oct 25, the RS151 also restarted its Roon Ready service several times in half an hour. We see the same short drops on Oct 22, Oct 31 and Nov 1. Your Nucleus stayed connected and your other devices weren’t affected.

Rebooting the Nucleus is unlikely to have fixed this; these drops have been days apart. A few things to check:

  1. Is the RS151 on Wi-Fi or Ethernet? If it’s on Wi-Fi, could you try a cable for a few days? If it’s already wired, a different cable or switch port would help rule those out.
  2. Set a DHCP reservation for the RS151 (192.168.1.115) in your router. Also check that your Nucleus’s fixed address (192.168.1.110) is outside the router’s DHCP range, so nothing else can be given that address.
  3. Check whether the RS151 has any network standby or power-saving setting, and turn it off.
  4. Let us know the RS151’s firmware version. Since the network drop shows up in the device’s own log, it would be worth raising with HiFi Rose too.

De Rose is connected by cable and has a static address.
I did not change any settings in my router and i never had problems with the connectivity.
