digital-coax-Out 150B

USB output and digital coax output at 150B,
I recently bought a new DAC (Gustard R26) for my previous combination (150B and ANK DAC 4.1). I use the Gustard R26 via the USB output of the 150B and the connection is flawless!
Unfortunately I have not yet been able to connect the 150B to the ANK DAC 4.1 via the digital. Coax output! The DAC 4.1 is not recognized and supported as an external DAC by the 150B when I connect the two devices via dig. coax output. Coax output with each other!
I can connect the 150B and ANK DAC via the USB output and also listen to music.
Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas on how to solve the problem?
I even took the Gustard R26 completely out of the combination (power wise and without USB CONNECTION to the 150B)! Even then, the ANK DAC is not recognized as an external DAC if it is only connected to the 150B via the digital coax output!
My setup:
Rose 150B only as streamer +
Gustard R26 or ANK DAC
from there the analog signal goes via the modwright DM 36.5 preamp to the active speakers.

I would be very grateful for any tips and help.

Pretty sure there is no way a coax SPDIF connection can tell whether or not there is a DAC on the other end. It just sends data one-way and the receiver just sees a PCM stream coming its way. USB works because the 150B can detect via bi-directional nature of USB protocol.

Don’t get me wrong, if you have a DAC that accepts a SPDIF connection you can use it as an external DAC. But the 150B is not going to be able to detect the DAC on the other end of a SPDIF connection. …at least not to my knowledge.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
The problem is still that when the ANK-DAC is connected to 150B via the USB connection and is recognized as an external DAC, I cannot use the dig-coax-out of 150B because obviously no digital signal is sent to ANK-DAC via it. I can select the DIG-COAX-OUT in the IN-OUT-AUDIO settings and set all the corresponding specifications (Samp.Freq. , Max-Freq. , DSD and …), but I can’t listen to any music! I have even tried different coax-digi cables without success!
Many thanks for any help!

Why are you trying both connections? If you are connected to the DAC via USB you should not need coax SPIDF out - everything works via the USB connection to the 150B. In fact, I am not sure if you can run both coax output and USB output of the 150B at the same time anyway. Perhaps you need to post some screen shots of your input/output settings.

am only trying to listen to music via my ANK DAC using the digital coax input. This DAC is similar in circuitry to the Audio Note DACS and does not use digital filters, oversampling or 1X oversampling. The device is also a tube device. The sound is quite close to the analog sound. You have to like it. I listen to a lot of my music through it. The built-in USB card in the ANK DAC is a simple solution.
The Gustard R26 is more my second and reserve ac.
For this reason I want to use the KOAX SPDIF connection.

Just a thought, most AudioNote DACs only support up to 9600 bps on the coax SPDIF. Might be worth checking you haven’t got the SPDIF output on the 150 set to 19200.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
I have set the sampling rate to CD sampling rate. Nevertheless, it does not work. The reason why my main DAC is the ANK device is that the music playback (my personal opinion) sounds more natural and (aborted) analog without these digital changes.
I would be very happy if Rose Audio staff could perhaps take on my problem and offer a solution!
