Does the RS130 cache Roon Tracks to the Cache Disk

Hi,

Yesterday due to events beyond my control my Roon music storage went offline - completely turned off.

Before realising this I played some tracks form using Roon that I play a lot. They all played, even though the Roon storage was offline (I don’t know how roon was able to do this - maybe it defaulted to sourcing the track from Qobuz), however the green ‘C’ idon for caching was not displayed.

So, does the RS130 cache music from played using Roon? It not can we please enable this.

The RS130 itself does not cache or locally store music played through Roon.
Roon handles all playback and streaming operations independently, and any caching behavior—such as the green “C” icon you mentioned—is managed by Roon’s own software, not by the RS130.

In your case, it’s possible that Roon automatically sourced the tracks from Qobuz or another integrated streaming service, which allowed playback to continue even though your local storage was offline. However, since RS130 does not intervene in Roon’s playback pipeline, it does not cache Roon playback data.

We appreciate your suggestion regarding enabling caching for Roon playback. We will share this feedback with our development team for further consideration.
