I use USB to connect the RD160 to the computer. When playing DSD files, the left and right channels are always opposite.
Regarding this, I have exchanged many emails with ROSE’s customer service. They said that they have discovered this problem and provided a new firmware version saying that the problem has been solved.
But after I updated the firmware, the problem still exists.
I have also tried using different computers, different software, and testing different DACs, but only when playing DSD with RD160 the channels are always opposite.
I began to wonder if this might be a hardware issue and I had purchased a faulty product.
Are there other RD160 users who have encountered the same problem?
The RS130 has the same problem when sending DSD via I2S (don’t know if it happens over USB as I don’t use that connection). Fortunately my DAC has the ability to flip the channels for DSD so at least the problem is solved for me. But Rose should fix it on their end.
