[Early Access] Ver 5.10.01 (Rose OS 5.10.01) SW Update Notice

@FerGT
Please unplug the LAN cable and turn off WIFI, then restart the device and check if the error message still appears.

The E/A update has been temporarily suspended due to users experiencing issues after the current update. It will be resumed once normal operation is restored.

Absolutely incredible!!!

Hello @ROSEHAN

What is the purpose of this option?

still waiting for an answer concerning windows applications download

and what is exactly the problem? because i already install that version.

btw i have a nas where all my music stands, i can access the music folder on the nas with android app but it doesn’t scan the music files (it remains to zero files scanned).

I found out why rose connect doesn’t scan my nas : it’s because of the password and special characters. I. create a new user account with a more simple password on my nas and rose connect could scan the music files (again we see the amateurism of your dev team).

Good morning, thank you for your prompt response. It worked on the first try, and I was listening to music with Roon. I thought the problem was solved and was going to report it to you. But when I got home, it happened again. I followed the same procedure, but this time it only starts when it’s not connected to the network. What else can I do?

Thank you

Just to let others know that I had no issues with the S/W update.

I updated my RS130 last night without any issue. No operational problems listening to or scanning music files on local SSD or from my NAS after the S/W update.

@Rose_love Great !!! After all those months of waiting and the best you came up is a faulty EA version. Sorry to tell you but from the beginning i knew that your development team will destroy you.
Congrats !!!

The E/A PC APP automatically updates when connected to your device. If the update fails or a new installation is required, please refer to the link below.

@FerGT
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Is the error pop-up only occurring when connected to a network, rather than when the network is not connected?
We are investigating the cause, but the issue has not been reproduced during our testing, so we are experiencing difficulties.
Please provide your ROSE ID in System Information.
If you perform a factory reset on your device under Settings > System Settings, the issue should be resolved.

@rdgsonic
Thanks for sharing your updated results.

Gracias

Hello.
Thank you for checking.
We have identified an issue with menu editing in this version, and a new version will be released on January 12th.
If you use the default menu after a factory reset and do not change the home menu, there should be no problem.
This issue will likely disappear if you update again next Monday.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Okay, I’ll do that as soon as I see the update available on the device.

Thanks

Please tell me what I need to do on my Rose 250 that I have had for 1 year, because I don’t understand what this ‘‘early access’’ update means?! Should I wait for the 12th? It will be the official update then? Or should I install something now, especially since some people have had problems from what I’ve read. And what is the difference between the eraly access update and the official update, because I don’t understand

@SCHWARTZ

Early Access is Rose’s way of releasing an update and then wait for users to test it and see that all functions as intended.

Check this from 2 years ago - I wouldn’t say that things have changed much since

Personally, I always wait not only until the official update is released, but even a little time after that, just to make sure that - as it has happened on many occasions in the past - the update doesn’t create any other problem.

It doesn’t take a scientist or a business management consultant to conclude that both aspects are a consequence of an historical and structural lack of software engineering resources at HiFi Rose.

Thank you, now it’s clear :slight_smile:

Yup. Because useless crap is far more important than fixing long-standing bugs, let alone adding anything useful!!!
