EQ relase new OS

When will be able EQ in RS130 ? Dirac live could also be implemented

there is no DAC in the Rose 130, how do you want to implement an EQ?

The same way it’s done in Roon, MinimServer, and Audirvana. In this case ideally by letting the RS130 load our own convolution files. It could also be done with a built in interface typical for EQ control, with the 130 converting the desired curve into its own convolution files.

Have you completely lost your minds, cuckolds? Why the hell do you need an equalizer in a High-End component? These devices are made to reproduce sound in its purest form and let you enjoy it. I think HiFi ROSE is sold at far too low a price, because now it’s become accessible to double-digit-IQ imbeciles who can’t understand that EQ problems—whether in Roon or anywhere else—only destroy the sound, stealing energy from certain frequencies. Just buy a portable Panasonic, it will sound no different to you than a ROSE or an iPhone.

I have an active corrector (Accuphase Dg68) I don’t need to pay for an equalizer.

Otherwise take a Roon subscription, it works perfectly with the Rs130 and you will have an equalizer.

The cost of a subscription will cover the possible additional cost of a modified Rs130

So maybe your system don’t need it- my speakers 360’ is extreme system and I would like to have an influence on the sound.

Just position your speakers correctly and work on your room acoustics. If your wife keeps yelling, then for heaven’s sake at least get a PSI C214 already. Understand this: if you’re EQ-ing the signal before it even reaches the speaker, there’s absolutely no point in buying gear like the ROSE 150/1 or ROSE 130 — it makes no sense at all. Energy should only be tamed once it has actually left the speaker! Only then can you achieve the perfect sound.

That’s satire, right? It can’t be anything else.

Definitely satire of the IQ of an average Rose owner…

…and that’s the tragic truth — the jazz molecules never even make it to the sacred golden ear. :saxophone::grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I agree that room treatment is a must before considering EQ. I was missing the room correction from the Eversolo A8 when I moved to RS130 + RD160, until I focused on treating the room. After room treatment I do not need corrections/EQ, and it has never sounded better.

Oh, they make it to the ears of gold just fine. There problem lies with what is (or, rather, isn’t) between the ears

You must have pretty low standards…

While room treatment is very important, not everything can be fixed by either room treatment or EQ (or even full-on room correction). However, while properly applied EQ can deal to a large degree with peaks and dips in in room frequency response, room treatment can’t.

And Boris we agree on something.

Note that not all rooms can have room treatment applied.
If you have a dedicated listening room, that’s one thing.
But try living in a condo w a wife where WAF is high. So your room is less than perfect. Hence room correction is needed.

Amazing, innit?!

Even in a big house, even with a dedicated listening room (which should be properly designed acoustically, of course) no realistic treatment will deal with either standing waves / room modes (sure, there are active bass traps, Helmholtz resonators and all, but they are big, expensive, and rarely practical at home) or with peaks and dips in speakers’ frequency response. Some rather expensive and “properly audiophile” speakers may have 10dB narrow dips in very audible range. If one likes that, sure, but if not, you can’t treat your way out of that. Fixing it with PEQ is rather trivial.

@Maciej

We understand that this may raise concerns. It’s related to our policy. RS130 is our flagship model that has been optimized for the highest sound quality possible, which is a source of pride for HIFIRose. We have chosen not to apply equalizer to the RS130 to ensure that our customers receive the best possible sound quality that we prepared with the utmost care.

However, we understand that some customers may disagree with our decision, and we respect their opinions. We acknowledge that there may be some who perceive our stance as stubborn, and we empathize with their sentiment. Although we are not currently planning to add EQ, we are open to modifying our plans if many customers feel that it is necessary. It is possible that we may have made a mistake in our thinking, and we appreciate any feedback we receive from our customers.

We appreciate the sincere interest shown in HiFi Rose, and we will continue to listen carefully to our customers’ opinions.

I view the RS130 as a gateway for my digital music. I don’t want it to do anything else, just a gateway. EQ, balance, room correction can be done downstream, at the level of the preamp or processor. I don’t want it to sound like anything.

That said, I do have expectations that it will perform this minimal responsibility flawlessly. Smooth song to song transitions, no cutting off beginnings of songs. In all my years of listening to records or CDs or iPods or my desktop computer did I ever experience the problems that I have with the RS130 with regard to playback continuity. The latest update has gone a long way towards addressing these problems and I am appreciative.

But now to read Rosehan saying there is a difference in sound quality between accessing Qobuz with RoseConnect vs QobuzConnect is maddening. I haven’t noticed a difference in my initial listening, but admittedly it was only for an hour or so. To me this is like going to a library where you have a choice of finding a book using the card catalog vs a computerized database and finding out that the book you selected differs based on which method you used to locate it!

@Eleven

To explain simply: When playing the same track through the Rose Connect app and the Qobuz Connect app, both methods send a digital signal, so there is no difference in sound quality.
However, in terms of stability rather than sound quality, we recommend playing Qobuz tracks through the Rose Connect app.

Thank you, I am relieved to hear this.
