Equalizer question on RS520

Should Equalizer on RS520 works with all input sources?

I just found out that adjusting EQ on RS520 has no impacts on sound outputs when using USB Input from laptop to RS520. Is this normal? And is there documentation somewhere on EQ where it works and where it doesn’t work?

It would be a nice feature, if there could be used different EQ settings dependent upon the respective inputs. In general, I do not use any EQ settings other than neutral when listening to music, but e.g. for my TV with HDMI eARC it would be a nice option to automatically switch to a preferred EQ setting when it is activated.

Adding the input-specific EQ functionality you request seems difficult at the moment.

The RS520’s EQ does not apply to all audio sources and outputs.
Only when EQ is available, the EQ menu icon is displayed at the top right of the sound source playback screen.

1. No EQ is applied to the audio included in the video.
   -Video, RoseTube, Tidal Video, Bugs Video.

2. EQ is not applied to externally transmitted sound sources.
   We recommend using the EQ function of the transmitting device.

• BT, Airplay, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready

3. EQ is not applied to MQA and DSD sound sources.

4. EQ is not applied to digital output.
