Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Hi —-I get a strong full bar 2.5 Wi-Fi signal on my rs130….would changing to an Ethernet connection offer any benefit?

It will be more reliable, generally, as WiFi is quite sensitive to what is happening in the radio spectrum, but if it does work well and you are not getting any dropouts there wouldn’t be much immediate benefit to changing.

Changing to Ethernet can always improve WiFi as Boris stated but upgrading to Fiber has resulted in even greater benefits. You can search the forums for comments from others.

From my own experience, the WiFi was excellent with zero drop outs! I then upgraded to Ethernet which improved the speed and the sound sligthly, then I upgraded to Fiber (using an ethernet/fiber switch) and it improved the sound further (more cleaner and darker background for sure), highly recommended but again, the WiFi was excellent connection and sound wise!

Can you point me in the direction of what fiber cable to use and how to connect multiple devices, tv, blu ray, rs130, with fiber cable?

You can find fiber cables on amazon, one like this works well —> https://a.co/d/4PQztfp

To use fiber with other devices they will need to have SFP ports which very few devices have. You can use a media converter but I don’t think it’s justified.

To connect to your RS130 you will need a fiber switch or switch with at least one fiber SFP port. You can find these easily on Amazon.

“SFP to Ethernet Converter”
“Fiber switch”
“Switch with SFP ports”

You will also need matching SFPs (ideally) to connect to each other one for RS130 and one for Switch or Media Converter.
