so I’ve just got the RS 130 to try, I thought I would just need to plug-in my external hard drive which I’ve been using for years as my music library repository.
Unfortunately, when I plug it in nothing happens. I can’t search for it because it’s just not there. I don’t know how to find?
If I plug it into another device on my network, I can find it, but I don’t want to do that, I need it directly connected locally.
Any ideas?
If your external hard drive is properly connected to the USB port on the RS130 rear, please check as follows.
You must select Music–>Folder–>your external hard drive.
Does your external hard drive display normally?
it is connected properly
It doesn’t show up at all
Had to do a hard reboot (pull the power cable) and reset DHCP server.
Still won’t find my music folder or the hard drive

It does recognise other hard drives

also, when it’s connected I can’t find a I can’t find the network share folder for external hard drive

And if you do mean instead that the drive does not show in some other computer’s network shares browser, how would an unrecognized drive be shared by the Rose?

The other one, with the external power supply to the caddy. Doesn’t show up at all.

Can you try a different USB with the drive?
Sounds like a flaky/bad USB port on the Rose though.
