Folder limits Rose Conect

Good morning friends, a new problem on my RS250A.

Rose Conect PC 4.14.15 (Windows)
Rose HiFi Conect Android 4.15.12.10
RS250 version 4.15
SSD 250 Gb used, 197 Gb available.
Total folders on SSD 536, total files 7393

I have detected that all the folders of my SSD installed in the RS250 do not appear in the Rose Conect on the Android tablet, only 504 folders and 6945 files appear. (There should be 536 folders and 7393 files). The same thing happens if I operate the system from the Windows PC.
Curiously, on the RS250 screen and using the RS250’s own file manager, I do see all the folders and files. I deduce that the information is on the SSD but the software does not see it. Obviously I have reindexed, scanned and reimported all the files
It seems as if there is a limitation on the number of folders.
I have created a folder for each ripped CD. I have tried grouping several folders from the same author in a folder so that folders that had previously disappeared appear in the application.
From all this I deduce that the problem is a limit on the number of folders in the root folder of the SSD
Is there a solution to this problem? Remember that we are talking about a 2700 USD HIFI device for intensive audiophile use. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you.

Caganerem.

I have an RS250A, I don’t use it as a streamer to connect to the internet.

The use I give it is to play audio from a 4 Teras USB 3 external hard drive formatted in NTFS, I have 3.6 Teras in use and the disk contains 2,251 folders, at the moment everything works perfectly (I have not yet done the latest software update).

I hope you can solve the problem.

Regards, Jose

Thanks for the response Jose, faster than Hifi Rose
I certainly decided on the 250 because of the ease of allowing interior storage, which allows me to have music without more external equipment. I don’t think I remember the manufacturer indicating any type of folder limitation.
Actually, all the folders do appear in the device’s display, but they do not appear when using Android or PC applications. Very strange.

I use my RS250A like the old way, I navigate with the remote control within my folders and play without problem: Wav’s - Flac - SACD ISO - ALAC; All the audio I have is always in high quality and so far, I have not had any problems.

I constantly read in this community that problems appear when they play from streaming platforms or use devices with applications.

I hope you solve it.

Greetings, José.

Bad, I see that the after-sales service is as bad, or worse, than that of Cambridge Audio and the like.
Bad work Rose.

@Caganeremp

I apologize for the late reply.

We are continuing to verify this information.
We also created 1,000 folders on the SSD and added 20,000 music files. However, it appears normally not only on the Rose device but also on all RoseConnect apps.
Please answer a few questions.

  1. Do only 504 folders and 6945 files appear in the RoseConnect window and RoseConnect Android?
  2. When you enter the media library on the Rose device, do not rescan the DB, but initialize the DB and then scan.
  3. If the above does not work, please factory reset RS250a.
    RS250a–>Settings–>System settings–>Factory reset
  4. Please delete all Rose HiFi Conect Android 4.15.12.10 and Rose Connect PC 4.14.15 (Windows), and reinstall it.

Thank you very much for the reply.

Indeed, the folders and their files all appear on the RS250A screen, everything is correct. The problem only occurs with HiFi Conect Android Rose Connect PC.

There are several things to do to find the source of the problem. It will take a few days, I will do it and report the results.
Thank you so much.

Good morning friends, I have done everything you have told me to do except factory reset the device. It doesn’t work well. Accessing “folders” (remember that I have created a folder for each album) the folders containing 1 album whose names begin with the last letters of the alphabet are not visible. But in reality they are there, so if you search by author, album name or any other method, they can be seen.
I have solved it by creating three folders with the following names in the root directory of the SSD
A to G
H to N
O to W
This way, by searching folders you can see all the subfolders (albums) created.
In short: in my case the root of the SSD has a limited number of folders. If folders and subfolders are created, it seems that the limit does not exist.

Caganeremp.

It’s a pleasure to greet you!

I see you continue to struggle with the folders…
Excuse me for the question, but is your hard drive formatted in NTFS?

As I mentioned previously, I have a 4-tera Western Digital external hard drive formatted in NTFS and at the moment, I have not experienced situations like the one you describe.

I really hope you can solve the problem.

All the best!, José.

Yes of course. For the moment everything seems to work properly.
Thank you for everything.

Fantastic!
You did a software update, it seems that on Tuesday the 30th, there is an update.
