Goodbye Rose, Hello Lyngdorf

agram4,

When you say that the difference became readily apparent after 200 hours, are you saying that the Eversolo T8 and Denafrips Pontus 15 combination was better than your Rose 520B? If so, in what way?

I hear you. I play 600 hours of pink noise through any new component I purchase before I do any critical listening. Even cables. For DH Labs cables I increase to 800 hours because of their stiffness.

I’m going to increase the pink noise to 52,560,000 minutes and then I’m going to my grave :coffin:.

R2R DACs (the Denafrips) sound more analogue like… so there’s that. But to answer your question: 1) bigger soundstage, especially depth and 2) timbre/tonality music sounds more "natural’ or maybe to say less digital and, 3) rhythm and pace picked up a tick. Not that the Rose is bad, it’s just that this combo is more pleasing to my tastes…I don’t get “ear fatigue” with this combo (can listen longer)…Hope that helps
Enjoy the music

agram4,

Yes, it helps a lot. I had an R2R Dac previously- a LAiV Harmony (the full size one) and I understand where you’re coming from.

Jokes aside…

You have a couple of issues…

First. the RS520 is an AIO.
Second you said 520B did you mean RS250 or RS150B?

Cordialement.

Yes, most people don’t have issues w their Rose products.
Most gripe about the User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) not being intuitive which is an issue that could be solved.

Also there could be an issue w the version of Android that they are using across their product line.
Seems a bit long in the tooth but I’m not an expert on Android.

Yeah, that shows, you are not an expert on anything.

There is no issue with the version of Android used; it is fine to support all the functionality Rose advertises for the product, and then some. There is an issue with the unit using such a non-standard display that Play Store applications would not work (as they do on some other products) and Rose having no capability or desire to develop replacements themselves.

MY BAD! RS150B…sorry about that

Ah Boris so all versions of Android are the same?

You really should stop talking about things you know nothing about (which would be anything beyond whether you prefer Luvs or Pampers). For the purposes of what RoseOS is doingm, there’s no appreciable difference between 8 that it is based on (for most devices, anyway) and the latest 16. 16 might perform a bit better, being more optimized, but that’s about it, It does not add anything. Just like connecting 1Gb devices with a Cat 8 cable at home will provide no benefit even if technically Cat 8 is better.

And you didn’t answer the question.
