Ground on back?

Can someone tell me what the purpose of the ground on the back of the hifi rose? Very curious.

@jjnewman24

It is used to eliminate noise by connecting the ground wire when noise is generated by the difference in current and voltage between the rose device you are using and the amplifier.

And if there is no noise, connecting the ground may cause noise on the contrary.

Thank you

Can I ground the rose to my preamp?

@jjnewman24

Yes it is possible.
Please tell me the model name of the Rose device and Preamp you are using.

Thank you

I am using a RS250 output via USB to Chord Qutest and I am using the preamp section of a Vintage Marantz 2270. I am getting a little radio noise coming from the speakers faint but it’s there. Hoping this will solve my issue. Please advise! Thanks in advance.

@jjnewman24

There are many reasons why a speaker may make noise. It may not be a problem with the RS250.
Please check a few things.

  1. Does the speaker produce noise when the Vintage Marantz 2270 is connected directly to the RS250 without using an external DAC?
  2. Does noise occur even when the RS250 is turned off?
  3. Does the noise occur if you remove the connected RCA cable?
  4. Does the noise occur even when the song is not playing?

Thank you
