Has anyone opened up their RS520?

Just curious about the op amps in use.

Not a lot of info on them and I couldn’t find a good photo of the boards.

@ROSEHAN , can you share what you’re using for op-amps?

Was talking w a friend about op-amp rolling and I was curious what was inside and if it was even possible to switch op amps.

Note: if the op amp isn’t in a 8 pin package that plugs in… amp rolling isn’t really feasible.

Thx

@Smegel

The RS520 uses two dual op-amps and ten single op-amps.
The op-amps installed in the RS520 are proprietary op-amps developed in-house by us.

From time to time, we receive inquiries from users asking whether the op-amps inside the RS520 can be replaced. However, opening the RS520 and attempting to replace the op-amps yourself is very risky and is not recommended.

If you are interested in op-amp replacement or modification, please contact the distributor in the country where you purchased your RS520 and inquire about this through them.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.

If the Op-amps are soldered to the board then you really can’t replace them unless you remove the op amp and then replace it w a dip socket. That is a bit risky.

However if the op amps are already in a Dip8 socket… then you can replace them.

Surface mount replacement is beyond the skills of most. However plug and play into dip8 sockets is fairly straight forward.

I’m assuming that your kit is surface mounted. Is that correct?

Thx
