HDMI - Audio with faint ticking

I have connected a ROSE RS130 to an Anthem AVM90 using a 50’ HDMI cable.

I hear small faint ticking in certain tones of music. It is soft/low volume (same volume and same rate of ticking). I compared this to a 35’ Toslink and a 50 Coax cable that produce no ticking. The ticking does not happen when the music/audio is paused or stopped.

Would this be caused by using a 50’ HDMI cable?

I have changed the HDMI output settings (with/out HDMI bypass, bit rate limits, etc.)( with no change in behavior.

Has anyone else ran into this or know how to eliminate the ticking?

Just to clarify, when you say 50’ you mean 50 feet/15 meters? Connecting HDMI/I2S?
The consensus seems to be to keep HDMI cables as short as possible, I’ve read many times that my 3’/1meter cable is too long and it should be kept under 1’ because the I2s protocol was designed to be used within the computer and therefore very short distances.

I am using a 50 foot HDMI cable (fibre channel) between the Rose RS130 and Anthem AVM90. This cable worked well transporting A/V signals to my TV with high resolution.

I am using the HDMI physical output, and selecting the HDMI output in settings along with the HDMI by-pass setting.

The slight ticking sound cannot be heard in most playback music. It seems to appear on different pitches or tones. My first thought was that something was out of sync.
