HDMI eARC working properly?

Hi all – learning about the RS520 as I’m considering the unit. Heard mixed things from local dealers and forums on the HDMI eARC functionality. Some say it doesn’t work properly and is delay between what’s on the TV and the audio output through the Rose.

Since I’m planning to use my Hifi setup for movies as well, this is an important feature for me to work properly. It’s not so fun watching a movie with lip sync completely off. Would love get some feedback from folks who use the RS520 with their TV (for reference, we have an LG OLED c4).

Appreciate the help

I have RS520 and I confirm, there is a small delay in the sound. It is not big, in fact very small - I noticed it, but neither my wife nor children - at all. If you are very demanding, it would be great if you had a time correction function on your TV.

The second annoying problem with eARC for me is that I would like to be able to disable waking up ROSE via this input. Most of the time the TV speakers are sufficient for me (Bravia 9) and I watch movies occasionally. I do not want to constantly turn on the audio equipment to listen to the news…

Hey @EvilD thanks for the input. I think most TVs have a time delay function adjustment for external outputs (HDMI and Optical), just not aware of it’s able to sufficiently address the issue in case there is one. I’m curious, can the time delay also be adjusted on the RS520?

As for the disable wakeup function, I’ve seen @ROSEHAN mention that this is a setting that’s available. You should be able to turn on/off the automatic wake up functionality.

If the sync is not correct when connecting the TV and RS520 via EARC, you may need to adjust the sync in the delay menu in the audio settings of the TV settings.
