HDMI Passthrough for Video

I have no free HDMI inputs on my Samsung TV. My Oppo universal player is using one of the HDMI inputs which I use to watch DVD’s. Can I connect the HDMI RS-150B output to my TV, and the Oppo HDMI output to the RS-150B input in passthrough mode? This would allow me to watch DVD’s or Rosetube videos on my TV depending on which source I select. Thank you. I am a newbie here.

Have you considered an HDMI switch? Pretty inexpensive solution.

Thank you, I acknowledge that is a solution. However, I would like to keep devices and cabling to a minimum. If RS-150B HDMI input is for both video and audio - and not just audio - passthrough mode should work just fine. My RS-150B is arriving today.

The RS150B has only an ARC “input” and not a full featured HDMI input.
So it will not work with your Oppo (which one?) as source.
But the most Oppos have a HDMI input and so you can use it as HDMI switch.
What’s is your sound system?

Thank you for the clarification. I have the Oppo BD-105D universal player, McIntosh MAC-7200 receiver, and Focal Sopra 3 speakers.

So your Oppo has an HDMI input and you can switch here.
I’m very rarely using the HDMI (video) out from my Rose devices, because here the video streaming is very limited and for showing the metadatas you’ve the front display or the app or (primarily using Roon) other devices and the priority for it is (for me) very low.
