When i send movies with audio 5.1, dts, or any surround mode by hdmi to my A/V receiver, i see PCM only. Passthrough on or off is the same! I changed 1.4 hdmi cable with 2.1 but nothing changed.
Why Rose doesn’t pass codified movie audio?
What do you get in PCM?
5.1 or 2.0
Which Amp?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Please check a few things.
- Are you using VLC Player?
Rose device–>Video–>Settings–>Use VLC Player OFF - HDMI Passthrough does not apply if you are using VLC Player Plug-ins.
Yeees! I disinstalled vlc so now NAS movies audio codes works, dts i-max too! Great! Only some mkv files not possible to play. Error format. Some mkv played and some more big no.
Hello, I cannot confirm this approach. It is definitely not possible to output HDMI passthrough with the Rose 250A. Audio files, *wv; *wav; *flac; *dsf; *.dff; *.iso are only output in 2.0. Tested via HDMI; Optical, coax on Yamaha CX-A5200. A repeat check after a factory reset confirmed my result. This is how the device was advertised. This bug is not yet fixed. If I play these files over the network with a Dune from the Rose 250A, they are played back in 5.1 etc.
Therefore, I don’t think it’s right to promote passthrough on this device.
On my 150b I didn‘t get 5.1 running. Not Flac or DSD
It would be interesting if there is one who has.
HiFi Rose didn‘t care about Multichannel
