Hifi rose does not appear on Tidal on android

Hello HiFi Rose Support,

I am using a HiFi Rose RS250 with an Android phone.

Spotify Connect works correctly, and my RS250 appears as an available device in the Spotify app. However, when I use the official TIDAL app on my Android phone, my HiFi Rose RS250 does not appear as an available device.

TIDAL works when I access it through the HiFi Rose/Rose Connect app, but the TIDAL functionality inside the Rose app is quite limited compared with the official TIDAL app. In particular, I am unable to save/add songs to my TIDAL playlists conveniently through the Rose app.

This makes using TIDAL on the RS250 inconvenient, since I cannot simply use the official TIDAL app on my phone to browse my music, manage my playlists, and select the RS250 as the playback device, the way I can with Spotify Connect.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Does the RS250 currently support TIDAL Connect?
  2. If yes, how can I enable it so that the RS250 appears in the official TIDAL Android app?
  3. If TIDAL Connect is still not supported, is there a planned firmware/software update to add it?
  4. Is there a way to properly add/save songs to my TIDAL playlists from the Rose Connect app?

My phone and RS250 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Thank you.

If you’d read a bit more in the forum, yousw’d see, that all current (without the new RW800) Rose streamers don’t support (and will not in the future) Tidal connect.
For this Rose developed the RW800, which you can add through USB to your RS250.

Other options are:

  • switch to Qobuz (Qobuz connect will supported fine in the RS250)
  • use Roon (is the best thing in using Roon streamers, if you don’t need Spotify)
