I have sent my RA 180 back to the dealer for warranty claim, problem with the phono amp in it. It sounds like the correction doesnt work at all. I need to use the eq and tone control to get any normal sound as possible, it sound thin and no bass what so ever. tested an external phono amp i have (extremly cheap one) line in and that sound great,any one with same problem? And also is the sound drop out from TV solved in the 150b?

, then it is the worst Phono amp i ever heard. Try to send it back for warranty claim, something must be really wrong.
Maybe you forgot to switch the phono selector from MM to MC?
Nope, i have tested every option, it is also a rather high pink noise when there is no music signal. i tried another turntable pickup then i got humming in right channel. everything stops when i disconnect the 150b streamer. With the external (cheap) phono preamp everything is really good sounding, treble and bass is perfect and no noise whatsoever without music signal. Clearly something is wrong with the phonostage inside RA 180. I cant imagine they put such bad phonostage in this amplifier.

Hi, no i have not got my unit back yet, they cant find anything wrong so they will probably send it back to me so i can try again if i have the same problem. There is a rewiev in HiFi +, you can read what they think about the built in phonostage, they are not impressed.

I see. Actually I’m not listen to vinyl, but just to ensure if there is anything wrong with the function. As an integrated, I won’t expect the phono part would be superb anyway.
There was nothing wrong when i used it as just an amplifier it is a really good amplifier. The only problem was humming and other noise playing vinyl.
Any update for your problem？
No so i bought DS Audio pickup and eq instead…

So you mean you don’t use 180 anymore?
Oh yes i do, but not the built in phonostage I use DS Audios pickup 003 and phonostage.Almost same price as the 180 amplifier so it is really good…
