What do RS151 owners say about the NAD M66?
IMNHO, on the expensive side, and you still need good power amp to go with it, but if you want to do an organ concerto at home, and have room for 4 subs, it will do a superb job.
I can well imagine that, Boris.
Stereotec is a dealer, so I would take all the praise with a grain of salt.
Of course…they spin it in a way that makes it easier to sell.
The salespeople all have dollar signs in their eyes, or let’s ask, who doesn’t?
But I’d still be interested in a comparison.
Naturally, without NAD’s room calibration; that would be unfair to the Rose.
HIFI ROSE RS 151 vs. Rockna Wavedream Referenzsignatur
Can this be compared?
Let’s just ignore the price for now.
But would the Rockna be a serious competitor to HiFi Rose’s flagship model?

Sound wise, with eyes closed, it would not particularly scare a Wiim. As a Veblen good, of course it’s a competitor – it costs even more!
I assume so too. That’s why I posted that we’re ignoring the price.
But there are quite a few audiophobe out there who are looking for that night-and-day difference in sound.
If the wheel isn’t being reinvented in the audio/hi-fi field, and one only hears nuances (humans, hearing, everything is different), then I can ignore such devices. Of course, if you’re rolling in money and place more value on aesthetics, then go ahead and buy them.
The strange thing is, whenever I’ve integrated new devices or speakers into my system, I’ve already gotten used to the sound after 5-10 minutes and it sounds normal again.
I once compared floorstanding speakers with bookshelf speakers (I know, a bad comparison), but it was the same. My ear/brain adjusted immediately. The difference was really only brief, when switching the speaker selector.
But we’ve already discussed this topic extensively, and I’ve also posted a few (for me) nice videos.

Yup.
There are some devices (mostly, ones having some mechanical components) where you do need to pay at least some premium to get good performance. So far we just can’t build a really good speaker or turntable for $100. For a DAC (or even an amp) with enough patience you can draw the ideal output by hand, given the input data, and compare it with what the DAC actually outputs. If a fancy expensive devices sounds in any way different from a $300 one, you know that it is just less accurate. One might prefer it, for whatever reasons, but as far as “fidelity” in Hi Fi goes, you are not getting more
