Would be awesome if Hifirose would provide TIDAL CONNECT.
Welcome Lek.I think that’s a great idea!
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
We are working hard to support Tidal Connect. However, Tidal does not provide any help.
We have to solve that problem ourselves. Please understand even if it takes time.
I appreciate that I am returning to an old thread regarding the availability of Tidal Connect on Rose products.
Today, I discovered via the Tidal website that, as @Rosehan correctly said, “ Tidal does not provide any help”. They advise that Tidal Connect can only be integrated “via our 3rd party integrators”. There are three companies named ( see attached screen shot ).
Is HiFi Rose in contact with any one of these three companies regarding Tidal Connect integration ?
I am curious about this too as a potential buyer of the RS520.
I wouldn’t let the issue of Tidal Connect put you off buying the RS520.
Accessing your Tidal albums and playlists via the Rose Connect App is seamless and works fine. I find it simpler to create my playlists via the Tidal app rather than use the Rose Connect app.
IMO, Tidal Connect is a “ nice to have” feature rather than a “ must have” feature and is not a deal breaker.
FWIW, I have owned the RS520 since April’23 and I’m very satisfied with my purchase. Great sound quality, all the features I need, superb build and, so far, it has been very reliable.
Appreciate the reply. I’ve seen the Rose app a couple of times and it’s left me a bit … uninspired. Hence the question. I also don’t think it provides the full functionality of the Tidal App, i.e. no song suggestions, etc. – is that correct?
Apart from “ My Tidal”, which basically replicates the albums and playlists you have on the native Tidal app, the Rose Connect app has five other headings,
“Home”which shows playing history as well as suggested new albums based on your listening preferences.
“Classic”, which should really read “Classical”, showing latest releases in that genre.
“Explore”, giving you the option to cherry pick specific genres, moods, activities etc and then let the app make the suggestions.
“Video” - self explanatory.
“Master” - a selection of albums and playlists, all in high resolution audio.
Not quite the same as Tidal, I agree, but still good.
If you are near to a Rose dealer pay them a visit. They should give you a demo of the app ( mine did) before you make any purchase decision.
