The ROSE RSA130 I have displays album art as a square on the far left side of the screen. How can I stretch or use the other 70% of the screen to display the artwork as well?
The screen is fixed - nothing to change here. Part of the Album Artwork is shown behind the text.
If you want a bigger Album Artwork, connect a big TV on the HDMI port… Additionnaly, you will enjoy RoseTube concert videos (without commercials) !
I’ll give RoseTube a try. Thanks!
Rosetube is very enjoyable for me and one of the best things about my RS130. There is a huge selection of music videos (and other stuff), just browse or search. And the sound quality is pretty good.
Looks great! Thanks for sharing. I just ordered another HDMI cable to run from the ‘HDMI Output’ of the Rose to an input to my Sony TV. Also, my hope is to use the eARC feature from my TV and AVR receiver to listen to the audio through my main speakers (Not TV speakers).
In your image, I see that your full screen on the ROSE (not TV) is being used to display the artwork for the artist/song. This is what I am wanting & trying to do. Does this only happen when you use RoseTube?
Thanks!
Beware the HDMI is NOT support ing ARC : only video is OUTPUT to your TV ! RS130 sound will go to your DAC.
TV sound must go directly to your DAC, usually with an optical cable.
Finally, no : in my picture, it is not playing from Rosetube but from Qobuz !
Thanks! I am currently using Spotify to test and the artist/music artwork on the Rose. This results with just a square of artwork on the left side of the Rose screen then the rest of the screen is the title. I’ll try Tidal next to see.
I will run the HDMI from the Rose ‘HDMI Output’ to the TV using a normal connection. Then from the TV, I will run the HDMI cable with eARC enabled on it to the AVR (Anthem AVM90) to use the main speakers. My hope is that this will work
Thank you for your input and reply as it is very helpful.
It should work yes ! Let us know…
Great album BTW, I really love it!
Everything Boris Blank touches is great electronic music for me. Listen to Yello. Boris was/is always the creator there too.
By the way, I would also recommend Boris Blank - Resonance…absolutely awesome.
Amazing album. I hadn’t heard it before. Boris is a great composer and arranger. Amazing sound and those strong rich bass. I was in Berlin when they showed the new app for Yellous sounds. Das war einfach MEGA!!!
Danke für die Empfehlung
@wwolfram
I too have an Anthem AVM 90. I am considering buying the RS130.
How are you connecting your RS130 to your AVM 90 (type & make/model of your cable)? Can you give me a description of the audio quality for Spotify, Qobuz, etc. and for HDD media audio.
Does RS130 play media 5.1 FLAC files?
@joyofmvid
I am connecting from the Rose RS130 to my AVM using a 47 foot coax cable. My Rose and TV are in the living room and the Anthem is in a ‘technology closet’. I purchased the cable from Blue Jeans Cable with the model type called - Canare L-4 5CHD Coaxial Digital Audio Cable, 47 foot, RCA/RCA, Black. Digital Audio Cables at Blue Jeans Cable It is at the top of the page with a orange shield. It works well. But since I have only connected the Rose for ~4 days now, I am still learning how to operate all of its features and have not tested different file formats or streaming options. I tried an optical 50’ hdmi cable but heard subtle clicks every so often so I did not install and use it.
I am using RBH Unrivaled speakers in the setup and the function of the Rose and the entire setup is fantastic. I hope to try Tidal soon but not have used Qobuz before. Spottily results in CD quality sound.
I hope to know much more in the next 2-3 weeks. The unit is solid. The feature that is lacking for me is integration with system control such as Home Assistant as I like to automate the turning on/off, changing inputs, volume from a central control. I can do this with my system but not with the Rose. The sound quality is great.
I could not get the eARC working with the Rose and Anthem. I believe it is because I am not using eARC as intended (Input to TV from ROSE is HDMI-4 and HDMI-3 from TV to Anthem), sort of confusing as it requires CSC which did not work any which way the setup I had…
The solution for me is to set the ROSE using my COAX 1 (and setting the outputs to the Rose to this… obviously). When I connected and HDMI cable from the Rose to an HDMI input to the TV, the video signal is active (If I wanted to see the album artwork). Had to make sure both the Anthem input was set correctly and the TV HDMI input was set correctly… Works great!.
I’ll automate the TV and Anthem inputs/outputs so this is almost seamless when I switch between AppleTV, etc. to RoseTube.
