How to get video to output via HDMI?

Hi, I bought a new RS250 a couple of weeks ago. I have ripped my entire CD collection to it (after adding an SSD). I cant seem to fiuugure out how to get Tidal videos or Rosetube videos to play on my TV screen, only on the little RS250 screen. Help?

Hello @Binford

If you see the back of your RS250, you will find a HDMI port.
Please connect to your TV with a HDMI cable.

If your sceen doesn’t show anything, try the method below.

  1. RS250-Settings-Display-HDMI resolution-sellect a lowest resolution
  2. Nowadays, most of the TV has many HDMI port. So please check the external input.

Thank you.

This doenst work to output the video the TV, it only outputs track and album cover for the song. The video still plays onthe Hifi Rose itself.

You should press “TV” button in the apper right corner of your modile application to start sending signal to TV

I am having the same issue. This should be able to be done remotely. I hate having to get up constantly to tap the little button on the top right.

Hello @soundexpressionsmd

We apologize for any inconvenience during use.

If you turn the power off completely after setting it to TV On, and then turn it on again, there is a phenomenon that TV Off is changed again.
We will forward the issue to the software team so they can fix it.

Thank you

Few more questions!

  1. What Rose device do you use?
  2. Before turning off the Rose device, what did you stream? video? music?
    Thank you

The RS250. Was watching videos via Tidal. It’s terrible for someone with a bad back to have to get up every time to touch the screen to send the signal to the TV. There really should simply be a default switch using the app or remote.

Hello. I just bought a HiFi Rose RS130. So if I connect an HDMI from my Rose to my smart tv I will get video (RoseTube) on my TV but the audio will play in my audio system? Should I connect it to the eArc HDMI port?

Also, can I conversely connect a toslink from my TV to my DAC and watch YouTube listening also on my audio system?

Thank you so much, Lawrence

@easola01

First of all, RS130 does not support an eARC port. Could you please confirm if your device is indeed the RS130?

That said, we will explain the difference between HDMI and eARC:

  1. When connecting the HDMI port of your Rose device to the HDMI port of your TV, it is used to display video (such as RoseTube or other video content) from your Rose device on the TV.
No additional input/output settings are required. Simply connect the HDMI cable, then activate the “TV” button at the top right of the video playback screen on your Rose device.
For easier understanding, please refer to the video below:

  2. When connecting an eARC port on your Rose device to the eARC port on your TV, it is used when you want to output the TV’s audio through your Rose device.
First, set the input on your Rose device to “eARC IN” in the input/output settings. Then, depending on your TV, set the TV’s audio output to PCM. This will allow the TV’s sound to be played through your Rose device.
