I had seen if you had a internal ssd, you go to your music and your files are properly organized, but if you had a smb remotr folder those files are no index as your local library. There is a way to do so?
We apologize for any inconvenience caused during use.
You have connected it to a PC via SMB, but the alignment is not the same on the PC as the music file is displayed on the Rose device. The sorting method on the Rose device is different from the sorting method on the PC.
Thank you
I have authorized SMB connections from my Mac Studio for myself as Administrator.
My Music is located in SMB://Rons-Mac-Studio/Music SSD/Music/
I typed this information in - path, user name and password when adding a location to the Network screen.
Three issues:
- The RS130 connects to my Mac and I can see the path but not the directory contents i.e., the songs in the directory. When I try to go to the directory contents I get a message that is almost too quick to read which I think says “accessing the directory, please wait” and then it’s gone with no display of the directory contents. The directory contents is all mp3’s. Do I need to add a wild card like star dot star to the directory path? Should it be something else like having to initialize the database in that directory through the Rose RS130?
- As soon as I leave that screen (pressing the back arrow) and then come back to the Rose, the network connection above is gone and has to be reinitiated all over again. Can’t the connection be permanent until changed?
- on a related subject of moving music to the internal storage disk, I plugged the Music SSD from my Mac into the USB of the Rose. It showed nothing. How does one get music into the Rose internal SSD?
Suggestions, please.

Rosehan,
Thank you for the email. I can get from the RS130 all the way to my Mac Studio and the top level directories (Rons-Mac-Studio/Music SSD/) but no further. The music is in a folder called “Music” which is the only sub folder to Music SSD. When I click on the Music SSD folder I get the quick flash of “accessing the directory, please wait” and that’s all.
I think I am to put in the user name and password for the RS 130 but where can I find that? Is the user name/password the same as the one I use to log into this site?

Please take a video of the symptom and email it to me.
I don’t know where the error occurs.
I have parially answered my questions. The ID and PW are what is typed in at the Rose Screen for Creating an SMB identity.
When I connect from the Mac to the Rose130 I can now see the split screen. On the left half is the Mac and I can click on the Music directory and see my Music MP3 files. On the right half of the screenn, it says at the top Rose-8c. The balance of the screen is blank.
I have taken a video. As you can see, I can access my Mac Studio and the subdirectories. I can’t see the attached MusicSSD. There is just a VERY fast message “Accessing the Music SSD, please wait” then the message goes away and nothing more happens https://drive.google.com/file/d/12qU9rBnQpSUTDYAALL0cXztVqpRzMriE/view?usp=sharing.
To give you access this I need an email address with name to give access to my Google Drive subdirectory as this file is too large to email.
