How to know a station URL is properly entered and connected

I would like to know exactly what the meaning is of certain of the radio station landing page information. Specifically, there are four or five pieces of information about a station.
they are:

  1. a radio icon- self explanatory
  2. Type of file i.e., Mp3 - self explanatory
  3. The bit rate usually 44.1 - self explanatory
  4. Number of channels usually 2 - self explanatory
  5. three ~~~ then the approximate throughput in kbps

If 2,3,4 and 5 do not appear does that mean the URL is incorrect or that the station does not exist? If 1,2 ,3 and 4 appear but 5 does not, does this mean that the URL is correct but the station is not broadcasting at that time? Or does it mean that something else is wrong?
Can I suggest that there be some indication (a green dot?) which distinguishes between a bad url and a station which is simply off air at that time.

If 2, 3, 4, and 5 do not appear, it usually indicates that the stream metadata could not be retrieved. This may happen if the URL is invalid, the station is no longer available, or the server is not responding properly.

If 1–4 appear but 5 does not, the URL is generally valid and the station exists, but the stream may not be actively broadcasting at that moment, or the server may not be sending bitrate information. This could also be caused by temporary connection or server issues.

Finally, in the Rose Radio app, if there’s a green microphone icon in the upper left corner of the radio channel, the radio channel is streaming. If it’s red, it’s off air at that time.

Rosehan,

Thank you for the information. Would the development team consider adding that green/red microphone icon to MyRoseRadio stations as well?
It would also be helpful if my listed items 1-4 were satisfied that the microphone icon turned amber as well.

You can add a microphone icon to favorited radio channels in the RoseRadio app, but not to radio channels created by adding a streaming URL.

Channels registered on our server can be identified by adding a microphone icon to indicate whether they are currently playing. However, this feature is not available for radio channels created by you, not on our server, by entering a streaming URL.

Rosehan,

Thank you for the response. I’m aware of the ability to add a microphone icon for for favorited channels. I was asking for the ability to add that same microphone app/icon to radio channels added by the user as an additional feature.

@StandardModel

Adding the same microphone app/icon to radio channels added by the user as an add-on is not possible.

What you requested is not available for radio channels created by you, not on our server, by entering a streaming URL.

Rosehan,

Thank you for letting me know.
