Please consider to enable your devices as NAA for HQ player.
Hello,
In order for ROSE to appear in the output list when sending HQ Player’s output to the network, the HQ Player NAA (Network Audio Adapator) must be installed on Rose. However, currently Rose products do not support HQ Player NAA.
The NAA installation and executable files provided by HQ Player are for general-purpose OS (Windows, Linux, MAC, etc.), so they are not compatible with ROSE.
We will conduct an internal review regarding future support.
We will do our best to provide support if possible, but the application schedule seems to take some time.
Maybe consider to set highest priority for RS150 & 250, if Rose will have NAA feature
They all run the same FW/software. Once implemented functionality will be available in all devices.
@ROSELOA please provide an update on NAA support for the RS130, when can we use HQP with these units.
Hello,
Currently, our focus is on stabilizing the device rather than adding new features. Additionally, we cannot confirm definitively whether the mentioned feature will be updated.
Thank you.
Hello HiFi Rose,
It is unbelievable that you don’t have any plan to support HQPlayer.
KK
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
HQ Player is a versatile player, but it seems difficult to integrate it into a Rose device.
However, although it is difficult to support all of the many functions supported by HQ Player, we are developing various useful functions to support them on Rose devices as well.
Thanks for your reply.
I am not speaking of integrate the HQ player into any Rose products (but welcome if possible), I am just asking for your streamer (RS130) to support HQplayer NAA such that I can stream music from HQplayer to RS130.
Are you saying that you are looking at DSD up sampling as Auralic does?
Can you elaborate please?
As far as I understand, there isn’t an Android port of the HQPlayer NAA so there’s nothing that Rose could add to support it.
While there are a lot of criticisms we can legitimately level at Rose, this one’s not their fault.
Hqplayer support will be fantastic.
I want to make sure this thread stays alive. When you spend over $5k on a pure streamer, my expectation is to use it at the highest level of performance, which would be with HQPlayer. I understand the android operating system limitation of the Rose products, but am wondering if you have come up with any possible solution / path forward. A $700 Holo Red does this trick!
Agreed. We demand HQP support!
I don’t see any option, that Rose (especially the RS130, means devices without a DAC) will support NAA in the future.
As mentioned above, there isn’t any Android port (the Holo Audio Red has a RPi inside and so it’s using a Linux) for NAA.
Secondly, what’s expected? I’m sure, you want to see the metadatas on the screen, which means, that Rose has also to implement a player for NAA into the device, which doesn’t exists anywhere.
With Rose devices which are including a DAC, you can for sure use it with a NAA client, but without showing any metadatas and using the internal DAC.
Another option would be, to develop (only Jussi can do this) a hqplayer port for android (like the hqplayer os for RPi) with a special option for Rose’s OS, but then you’re limit in the Rose hardware…
You do. While not exactly snake oil, it at least does what it purports to do, there is very little need to do any of it.
In any case, Sygnalist are the only ones who can make it happen, not Rose. If you really want to do it, just connect the Rose to the computer, and run HQPlayer there.
